uk grower need help for prepetual grow

hello every 1 at riu hope all you fellow growers are doing well, i'm from uk. I'm a newbie from but have been strictly reading and researching for the past 3 4 months i would like to setup a stealth grow tent with 30 plants plants in flowering for a preptual grow, the strains i want use are ghs strawberry haze, and hawiian snow, super lemon haze and maybe some really good strain of blueberry as we have some shit blueberry around here these days. i'm planning on using a hydro setup or even soil depending what others recommend i will take into account, i was wondering if the bubbler hydro system is good and better than aeroponics, i do know soil is more forgiving but i want yield and decent quality which is why i want use hydro, and as Garden knowm says if your well tuned in hydro you can't beat it. also lighting is another concern as i want to be using best air cooled lights possible for the 30 flowering plants, at differnt cycles, some odur control and Co2 as its meant to give plants extra weight and some t5s for veg and cloning etc. any ideas of what i should do i know i will have different strains which could vary on feeding and lighting, also what's best nutes for hydro and soil also what are feeding schedule???

I grow perpetual. My first advice is: Keep it simple on your first grow, especially going perpetual.

I would avoid hydro and stick w/ soil for a few grows at least. Learning w/ soil is simpler and much more forgiving of mistakes. You are going to have to learn how each strain has different needs, growth patterns etc. You are also going to have to perfect cloning in a perpetual grow. I constantly have plants rooting, vegging and flowering. There is more work than a normal grow and it can get overwhelming if you let it.


I use Foxfarm Ocean Forest and Roots Organic soil mixed w/ perlite.....for nutes in veg I use Alaskan Fish Emulsions every watering after the clones root. In flowering i use Botanicare Pure Blend Pro and Molasses every other watering.

Hi - I also grow perpetual and agree you should keep it simple to get started. The trikiest part of a perpetual grow is getting all the timing right. And the thats where all the variables can trip you up. It gets too hot / cold, too much / little nutes... all those details can effect plant growth, suddenly your 2 week schedule, becomes 3 week etc.... you get the idea.
If this is you first grow, you might want to try a few growth cycles without the pressure of running perpetual.
When starting up, I find it best to have a sturdy mother to supply the needed clones (plus extras for failure until you develop your skills).

hey ink the world thanks for the quick response i really appreciate your help i was actually getting more weighed on soil too but hydro is cheaper and no mess that's why i was considering that hydro would be ideal, also i think i will keep it simple for my first grow might go with 10 plants then take clones from vegging plants i have read that it's best to take clones from the tops instead of bottom also i will be using a propagator if i take clones for me to carry on from first grow i'm going to be purchasing ghs all fems soil would be great as you mentioned all strains have different stages of nutes some more some less. but how would i be able to keep different strains in hydro setup? i will probably use a grow tent and i would like big one so in future i can carry on with different stages of flowering.

thanks mate i will look up your journals and ink the worlds too and will defoz keep it simple until i have a few grows under my belt also is it easier to take clones off veg plants or from a mother? i want to run a few strains and don't really like the idea of keeping say 4/5 mother plants. is the wilma auto feeding sytem any good for soil grows? heres the link below

just had a look at hydro store and noticed they sell the new air pots are they any good for growing any experience guys? also what plant pots and size do you recommend from seed to finish? i have also seen the square pots whig also considering as they are space savers.

Never used airpots, i just use soil in 1 and 2 gallon containers.
I root all my clones in keg cups, then they go into 1 gallon grow bag to veg in. I transplant into 2 gallon bags when they go into flower......if your gonna be using clones to grow with, 2 gallon bags work great for a SOG style. I dont have the space for huge treelike plants, in the 2 gallon bags they get to about 3 feet, perfect for my flowering space.


I dont keep mother plants, i just take cuttings from each plant before they go into flower. Saves space

Cloning from veggin plants or a mother plant is identical in process. When getting started, it's easier to have a mother since you'll need to cut clones frequently and regularly until you've established your cycle and filled the space. Most small vegging plants can't affort to lose too many cuttings. Once things are rolling well, then you can get your clones from the existing veg plants.
I use square pots - start in 9 oz cups and finish in 1.5 gal size now but I'm looking at 3 gal.
