Typical first time grower with issues....help :(

Hey guys, first time grower and I seem to have run into some issues. Got the little gal as a rooted clone(soil) from a friend of a friend its supposedly DeathStar, and had been growing in a Solo cup at the time. I received it that same day put into the room under a 2ft T5, I had left it in the solo cup for a week, watered once (with tap) and transfered into a new pot using Roots Organic soil after 3 days. Watered plant after the transplant till i saw the first bit of water come out. Room was 75 degrees around 55-60% humidity, plant seemed to be doing great and was growing measurably every day. So I let it sit 4 days to water again as the plant started to droop and it perked right up and looked great again, I used the 3 day watering schedule of straight tap water for 2 weeks. the plant looked great and was growing. Now here is where I ran into issue, after the 3 weeks or so of having it in its new soil and pot etc I watered using Pure blend pro at 1Tbs - 1 gal and again watered till I saw a bit of run off. Now the plant the next day looked incredible! it grew a ton and was reaching nice and high. The days following it started to droop a bit it looked okay but the stems were getting red and the fan leaves felt extremely dry. I didnt want to water again because i didnt want to over water so I gave it a few more days and watered again with straight water, no change at all, another 3 days i watered with nutes and still looked terrible. I saw roots starting to come out of my drainage holes so i decided to check and see if the plant was becoming root bound, i gently popped it out and to my surprise the roots were massive so i swapped to a much larger pot filled again with roots organic. Now when I swapped pots I also swapped lights to a new 400w Halide setup so I have no lighting issues. It has been 3 days and the plant looks HORRIBLE drooping leaves and dark dark stems. I figured the new light would make this thing waken up a bit and definetly didnt. I need some help from the pros! I know you guys answer these questions regularly, just know I really appreciate it, and im trying my hardest to read as much as I possibly can from past first time growers but the intense amount of info is overwhelming at times!

As of today I just watered it again with the pure blend (second time in new pot), stems look horrid, plant has stopped growing and the leaves are drooping BAD. I was going to do a big flush with straight water after another 2 days and try and get her to perk up but I dont know if thats the right move.

the only thing I can think of is that if you are using straight tap water that your ph might be too high. Mine is 7.9 out of the tap, they like 6.5ish in soil. Other than that, they look healthy, just like they drank a bunch of water...

I'm a new first time grower as well, but my two cents is that your nutes are causing your issues. Probably enough in your soil at the moment that the plant probably doesn't need the extra nutes. Also, at least on my grow, I start using 1/8 the recommended nutes to start and slowly increased them, though my plants were already in 5 gallon buckets when I started adding nutes.

Beyond the droop, looks good and with the help of this site I bet you turn it right around to a booming plant!

Well I actually just picked up a Hanna pHep today and calibrated it but wasn't sure what water to actually test, the straight tap water was 6.8 and i also checked my nute water and that was 5.5 I assume I should go grab some ph up tomorrow for my next feeding. But now at this point should every feeding include nutes or should I still be doing a straight water feeding in the mix as well??

Here is what happened when I did nutrients, I instantly flushed them / soaked the soil with filtered water and luckily they perked right back up.


This was the plants a few days ago and I am just starting to use nutes at this point.


I personally try to keep as natural / organic as possible and am seeing great results, but I do add Aurora Innovations Buddha Grow, Trinity, and in two weeks into flowering I will add in Buddha Bloom. All organic.

I would just add water when they need it for a few weeks until the plant picks up again. My filter is keeping my water around 6.4 to 6.7ish normally, so I rarely check that out. Simplify with just water and light and I bet she bouncing back to show you some love.

Right on, just let them dry out some. Everything will be cool.
Remember to much water can cause nutrient up take in the soil.

That strain is gonna look a little droopy just because of the shape of the leafs.
You know she looks sad, your doing a good job.

Wow I'm really happy to hear she looks okay! Overthinking seems to be the #1 killer.... So I'm just going to let her breathe a bit and just dry out, eat up the water and the nutes and start next week with 6.5ph water and do that for 2-3 weeks depending on response.

I have another issue that's more annoying than anything, i got through a friend a free 310cfm inline but it's LOUD he hasn't used it 4-5 years and it seems the bearings are shot so it clunks and rattles, so next week I want to grab a new exhaust. I was thinking about grabbing the Tjernlund 6" 530cfm off eBay as it seems to have pretty good reviews and an awesome price. Anyone have feedback, or other suggestions??

It doesn't look hungry or burned, so I think you're doing fine.
It looks droopy like either overwatered or thirsty, so I would play with the watering schedule until you find out what it wants.
REMEMBER, you can't use the same schedule from sprout till harvest, she will go through thirsty and drought cycles.
Best to go with the 'weigh the pot' method.

I cant thank you guys enough for the help!!! Shes looking much much better today, Im going weigh the pot in 2-3 days to see what my dry weight is and start a log every week of water usage, temp, humidty etc to see what conditions have the best results.


Now because im only growing one plant (for now) is it safe to mix 1 gallon at a time? should it be in a dark container? would it be smart to throw an aerator in it during storage?
