Trimming roots?

Quick question....

Has anybody ever trimmed their roots in a DWC system? Will this promote root rot or cause other problems?

Due to space limitations, I am trying to veg my 8 plants in one Tuff-Box for the first month. On the last run my roots were hopelessly tangled and I had to rip them apart prior to placing them in the RDWC system. Due to a multitude of problems, heat, bugs, root-rot and broken woody stems..... I ended up with a disaster..... LOL I will update my successes and failures with photos soon ( https://www.rollitup.org/grow-room-design-setup/727385-legalnug-grow-room-saga-14-a.html )

I figure if I keep the roots trimmed to 10 - 12 inches or so, I will not end up with one big mass of roots.

Opinions? (Preferably based on past experience.... LOL)

ya i have many times in the easy cloner just gently push pull them apart if you rip them i would just make shure the water is good ph ed and ppm's and add voodoo juice or perana to eat up all the dead root mater flush 4 days after hopefully all the rootmater gets captured in your pump filters and just keep adding it till week 3 and you should be okay

A little trimming of the roots should be fine if time is given to grow back which happens pretty fast in a DWC... Mine are pouring outta my aerotubes like spaghetti....I keep trimming them back & they don't seem to care
