Trimming Question

A recent rain shower just destroyed some of my outdoor and I had a lot to trim.
Some got hanged with all the leaves on them with no trimming whatsoever while I was trimming some other stuff. Today I went back to trim it up (I usually always trim them fresh I was just overloaded with crap to trim ) and it seemed almost impossible to trim.

Does anyone have suggestions? Should I let it completely dry how it is and then try again?

Let them dry out and it'll be easier to trim. I also trim when they're fresh but if the leaves are wilted, it will be easier when they're dry
