hi

me again yah yah i know i never sleep and what the hell am i doing .................this is to open the topic up

given autos do there own thing and u can mutli top colas with topping the plant ..............the lower parts u first 7 8 inchs off the soil up as the auto goes into flower it bushes and with multi plants in the system u get those areas of low light

is it best to trim those off there by letting the plant direct the engery to the more productive parts aka the ones higher up and getting the full light

i have plant 3 4 5 un topped so one could be a trail and error but i like to know others thoughts before i take the leap

this was my 420 post taken a tube (gives u a reason to)

I personally wouldn't cut anything that's living off an auto, they're already small and they need those fan leaves to carry out photosynthesis

when using an autoflowering plant a couple main things to remember are

A - the plant has a predetermined life cycle. ex.- AutoMazar will sprout in 1-2 days, veg for 14-21 days, flower for 70 days. total life cycle approx. 95 days from seed to stem.
(being that this plant only lives 95 days means topping/cutting/pinching any main colas will for the most part slow the development of the plant. Trimming off lower leaves that aren't getting enough light can be a good idea to redirect the nutrients and resources but they do serve a function as a solar panel. I would first suggest running to homedepot/dollar store and grabbing a cord/plug/light socket and toss in a cfl and uvb bulb, should cost between 20-30 depending on the bulb costs. If you are unable to brighten up these dark spots you can still do a 2 part harvest. cut the tops when they are ready, then the bottoms 2 -3 weeks later. Autos just have to small of a cycle to do any major trimming. Cutting the bottom ones that aren't getting light will help a tiny bit but if you are able to get an additional light that might be better. what ever you decide, all the best to ya.

bad bad bad, i have a jack herer, they say he has swollen calyxes, the lower parts swelled up and i thought they were seeds, turns out it is true, swollen calyxes on the LOWER part first. fucking incredible.

ok ...well i have noticed some of the leaves down getting little yellow but the budding sites are fine and there is this tiny bud on the 2 sides ......maybe a sneaky a toke hit dried sized bud /branch

i know it is do to the low light lvl i moved plant 2 outside 3 days ago and oh my god i am happy i see resin glands showen up 2 weeks before they did in the tent

I agree that cutting anything off of an auto isn't a good idea.. I think if you wanted to get more light to the lower parts of the plant then you should LST..

what do u guys/gals think of this bulb

uva 30% uvb 10% ......if the size is camparable to others should be about 1600 or 1800 lumen bulb (they do not have the details like that listed)

i dont know about the specifications of the correct amount of uva uvb, i used a similar one on my second grow and it increased trichs by about 20%-25%. i mean this in overall size/spacing of them. Trichs are on a plant to protect it from uv rays, so if you add even a little (preferably during veg) it should help. Dont use uva uvb on seedlings/clones/little ones. shit can fuck up.
