Trichomes outside vs inside the bud readiness

I am growing outdoors and notice that on the outside of the bud trichomes are turning amber. The trichomes inside the bud however are still clear. When going by a percentage of amber trichomes to dictate harvest, would one assume all the trichomes inside and on the outside of the bud as part of that percentage? Will the inside trichomes turn cloudy and ripen ? What would be a reason that there area large amount of amber trichomes on the outside of the bud but yet so immature inside the bud?

Never check sugar leaves, just bud structure

I see that on my indoor grows too so must be from the extra UV exposure or just strong light hitting them all day. I harvest in stages too just taking the top portion off and the rest a week or longer after when they look riper.

The trichomes inside are better protected from anything that would cause them to oxidize and change color.

So do they eventually ripen or do they always stay clear?
