Trichome question

Hello all,
I have a possibly silly question. I have a microscope 60x-120x and i have a REALLY hard time keeping it steady in my hand long enough to see the trichomes.
My question is will it hurt the plant a lot to cut a small piece of a frosty leaf to view under my scope? And if not, is there a particular spot I should cut from?
Thanks for any help :)

No it wont hurt a lot. Although it would be better to take a less frosty leaf from down under the canopy, something that isn't getting much light anyway.
I got a $40 10-500x magnification USB microscope, and it has a stand :)
It's hard to keep steady as I focus it, but then I can let go and it's still.

I was having the same difficulties, and only 40x...but that's just what I do now; take a small piece of leaf (from various points)
It's so much easier...

i always get a stool to rest my hands/ elbows on and bend a branch down and tie it to steady it
but yes you could cut a bit off, if you need to
