TP Germinate to Soil Questions

Hi all,

I’ve been reading through here and it seems like there are a lot of people who use TP method and some that go straight to soil. Next time around I will probably be going straight to soil, but that’s not why I’m here.

I have my seeds germinating in TP currently and set to check later tonight for any seedling signs. Questions are:
  • When transplanting seed to final pot - how far down should I bury the seed?
  • Should the soil be dry, damp, well watered?
  • How much if at all should I be watering the seedling to start?

    Thanks all!

Personally I water the soil to run off a day before I put my seedlings in and go about 1/2" deep. Then I add about a shot glass or so of water every 2nd or 3rd day. I like to let the soil get light so the roots grow out looking for moisture.

1/2" deep, i moisten not drenched soil then use a humidity dome. Just cut up a bottle. Look at that moist spot after i lift the bottle off. Thats all a seedling needs for first life in my opinion.works for me and the pot isnt soaken wet...you wash away nutes when you water to run off that the seedling could use, youd have to replace it.

Unless you are growing in a desert please refrain from domes on seedlings
It can cause damping off in young
I only use domes for clones in my region

Yeah i should have mentioned when to remove them, like a day after they break soil.i see overwatering as a bad thing this was my fix.seedlings like high humidity but dont do it long.i do live in low RH region so it works for me.sry shouldve been more concise.
