Townhouse Indoor grow.

So...im planning on growing inside of a townhouse. And i am a little worried about the smell but i think that i can by pass that with DIY filters and what nots. Also im thinking about using a auto flower strain, so i can keeep it small.
But if anyone has any ideas how i could keep the smell away. What the best strain would be for the least amount of smell.
And just any comments overall i would really like it.
I do need some help.

there are many strains with low odor reputations
i just did my 1st micro cfl grow with nl#5 from highgrade-seeds
this was a true stealth strain, i had my carbon filters all ready, never used 'em. odor was just too small
odor control is always a good idea, mine were in a relatively stealthy location, but i couldn't get over just how little smell this strain creates

Thanks. So i should use them?

probably, you want to work up a list - write down some of your desired traits - potency, stealth, weeks to flower, indica/sativa
you will be starting what should be a 100 day commitment to pull in a harvest(though there are faster), so a few more days to choose your strain is a good idea
i found this nl#5 a very potent indica, i.e. it's got knock out traits - great for insomniacs
i vegged to 5 inches, took 11 weeks of flower and finished at 29 inches - got 35g from 78w of cfl's

Oh i see. so Northern Lights number 5.
And you think that the smell would be pretty minimal.
So if i were to use like a DIY carbon filter, and a ONA gel i should be pretty good?

based on the results i got, i'd say you would be fine - shop carefully for the breeder you want - i had good luck with highgrade-seeds, but there are other possibilities - dr. atomic seems to have good rep for northern lights

If you plan on an encolsed grow, like a closet, depending on where in your place it is, you can get away with modifing an air filter by adding activated carbon and make a decent air scrubber for your room.
I do this in a front closet, and with the door closed, it cleans the air enough that i don't worry about odors.
Plug in air fresheners help mask odors as does ONA, but i wouldn't rely on those alone.
Also depends on how many you grow.
If smell is an issue though, better to try to eliminate it rather that relying on a low smell strain. It would suck to get 5 or 6 weeks into flower only to realize the smell is more potent that you thought it would be.

Yeah, I will check it out thanks.
Amd probo thanks as well. I was going to make a scrubber. i saw the thread about the odour control.
And i think i can pretty much make one and i will be using that as well as an ona.
Im going to be using a CFL set up.
Any ideas?

likely varies from breeder to breeder - many breeders do their own 'cut' of nl#5 - some smell, mine didn't

much depends on how many/large plants you plan to go with
cfl excels in small stealth grows - hps more efficient in bigger grows

highgrade-seeds.com - he's based in canada
ordering seeds is not a %100 risk free deal - but pretty close, normally customs will replace your seeds with a form letter if they find them, which looks to be pretty uncommon

If youre going with an auto and are worried about smell i would advise against diesel ryders. They fuckin reak.

I grew/grow seeds from BCSeeds
I tried their Purps. Hard to germ, very small, slow growing plant. About 1/4 off the first one i managed to flower. Not much else to brag about. But...

Their Kush on the other hand, great producer for me. Now anything over an oz. is good to me. 1 1/2 oz consistantly.
4x42w cfl and T5HO (2 foot long)
15 gram colas lots of side buds, very dense for cfls.
I can flower 2 with little odor using that scrubber, and keep myself supplied.
After a Purple Kush clone im doin now, im doin the Kush under 250w hps.

2 seeds under a T5 now to get a mother.
