Tower Fan for Odor Control?

Hey ladies and gents... I was just curious if anyone has tried to use an air purifier tower fan to control some of the stink during flower?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Portable-Tower-Floor-Fan-w-Air-Purifier-Ionizer-Remote-Control-Lasko-Air-AC-/220898713659?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item336e96e03b

Something similar to this.. i would use a normal carbon filter and inline fan set up but my closet is already stuffed enough with the light hood and ducting.. It's a sealed room anyways so i figure some or most of the smell will just stay in there.. Then with the tower fan right outside the closet door immediately cleaning any air with odor...

It will fucking stink mate !

Odour control is serious business. You need some form of carbon filtration.

Are you using an air cooled light ?

I have to agree with Mouse ... It is not just going to eliminate too much, if any Ricky. You need to get some type of carbon filter up there, especially if you want to be stealth (apt or such). There are some DIY carbon filters out there. May want to check out the Wal-Mart one or at least something better than this.

I agree. I have tried all the DIY shit in the world and now I use a carbon filter. It is really the only sure fire method besides an ozone generator which makes its own distinguisable smell and may kill you.

Thanks for the quick feedback everyone. I was scared that might be the answer though. Looks like the carbon filter fan combo it is. My next question would be how would I run the fan and filter? Seeing the room is sealed and I give co2 every hour I don't want to be sucking out co2 and wasting it. So I guess I could just get a timer to turn my fan on in between co2 feedings.

Also, does the carbon filter destroy co2? Probably a dumb question but if the answer is no then my best option for my scenario would be to just put the fan and filter in the room and let it vent right back into the room ?

Any more input on the filter and fan combo recirculating the air within the tent to control the smell?

Despite the smell. I may have another issue. The temperature reaches around 90F I'm running co2 but I still feel this can't be healthy. And there's no way for me to keep the room any cooler without having to spend an abundance of money. Which is horrible because the idea of putting the room in the closet was to be descreet. But now I may have to go back to a larger room in the cooler basement

Why not put it in basement anyways? Why would visitors go to your basement? Your definately gonna wanna keep temps below 85.

Well it was in the basement but I decided it would be disguised more in the closet then in a big tent in the basement. I live in an apartment so the handy man has access to our place without warning. He was actually going to come in recently and go downstairs to change the filter in our heater/ac.

I tie my filter to the ceiling on one side of the lights. Doesnt get in the way, gets the hottest air at the top :)

Thats probably what I'll be doing here soon. I'll just be recirculating the scrubbed air back into the sealed tent so I don't worry about timers and controllers. Oooh the problems of growin stinky nuggets :)

Thanks for the responses everyone. I'll probably open a journal once I get some pictures worth sharing (aka: bud shot madness)

Get good carbon filter dont skimp out on it either.
I just bought a smaller fan and filter seeing my flower room is only 4'x3'x4'.... I got a 4" inline fan rated 185cfm and just a can 9000 filter. I haven't installed it yet (only 1 week into flower so no reek yet) but i did test the fan and it can move some air !! Very surprising.. I see now why these things can make such a big difference in a grows ventilation/odor control.. Aside from that I think I'm now starting to face the fact that the closet might not be the best place for the little ladies .. The temps just seem to get too high at points.. It stays around 84-88 but spikes to 91 at some points during the first few hours of the light being on (still daytime outside).. In the basement the ladies could stay comfortable and not get any hotter than 84 easily. . I'll have to give up discreetness I guess, but I'm sure i'll be thanking myself for doing it later on.:eyesmoke:
