Hi guys, help me out here, i know very little about hps really, except its hot, and it gets fantastic buds. BUT! Is the ability to get great buds the penetration? and how does the penetration compare on multiple smaller hps like 50-150w to a single bulb. Also i heard that the main reason people get caught, apart from pure stupidity, is the infra-red heat signatures showing up to police cameras.
what i need to know, is:
Do smaller hps bulbs still get good results?
Can you wire several smaller hps bulbs in series into a standard ballast; IE 2x75w into a 150w ballast or 5x50w into a 250w?
How can you effectively shield infra red heat signatures?
Also, how would, say, a 50-70w hps compare in a pc grow case to a 125w envirolite type cfl? Would the heat from a 50-70w be too high?
