Topping

Gday, I have a few questions.
How many weeks into the vegetative stage on my plant should I top the plant and should I top it after the first top, if so when.

If this is your first grow then I would suggest trying it with no training so you can get a feel for how the plants grow naturally, and then you will have a better grasp of how the plants respond to training in your next grow. If you still want to top them, though, then wait until the plant grows enough to have 6 levels of nodes, then top just above the 3rd set of nodes, and remove the shoots below the 3rd set of nodes. Some people also remove the fan leaves down there, but I leave them so the plant can bring in more energy from the lights.
