Topping yet again!

I have posted a few threads on topping, but no here is on with loads of questions. How do you determine when to top the plant? What exactly are true nods? How many should you wait for before topping? How to top and obtain several Colas? What is the exact spot where you top the plant???

True nodes are the leafs with ridges.

Top at the first true node for 2 main colas.
Top at the 2nd for 4 colas, 3rd node for 6 ect..

I usualy top mine about 2-3 weeks old.

Basicaly you can cut it any where above that node...

I usually let'em get however many nodes as branches I want, plus a couple for cuts then top'em.
They'll grow as many branches as nodes generally given decent lighting.
I generally like'em bushy myself, good luck and holler if ya need any help.

Under Advanced techniques you will find a sticky about topping. You should always do an advanced search of the forum before posting questions. There is tons of good post already available on this topic. I personally wait for the first set of 7's before I top my plants, but that a personal preference.

its only healthy to top a plant after it has grown 3-5 pronged leaves and you dont want to prune it too much, only do it in early veg stage

youtube has some good vids on the subject as well. Don't be scared to experiment too. You'll learn more that way anyway.
