Top before SCoG?

Hey guys I'm new at Scrog and growing I've read that people usually top before they Scrog? My plant is an inch above my net should I top? I've read that the strain(delicious seeds-Cotton Candy) likes being top what do you guys think I should do

I accidentally topped mine. It turned out to be for the better. It's pretty difficult to continually weave the main stem under the tent. If I were to do it again I would definitely top it.

I top mine around once every week then stop three weeks before starting flower, as to get thoose nice colas back. I get pretty good results this way. White widow with two months veg i get 5oz-8oz a plant. i like scrog but bending the branchs down to the same level and topping them the same gives me the same amount of bud with way less hassel. hope that helps

Well I topped it how long does it usually take for the plant to recover from the stress the plant was as healthy as broccoli

it recovers pretty quickly...all plants are always different. Are you using super thrive? be sure to use super thrive with every watering....this will cut the stress way down and keep the plant healthier and more bug resistant. awesome stuff! and remember the more you top off the more exaggerated the lower branches will get. I wish i had a camera so i could show you my set up but i don't. I teach classes on growing and one project we had was to try and keep the plant really short for three months by topping and tying down. The plant was really wide but only 8inches from lip of planting pot and was 8oz! funny lookin plant

No I'm not using super thrive bit I will pick it up this weekend and do you mix superthrive also with feedings?

super thrive is a must. It's not very expensive. it says you can put a drop a gallon to a tablespoon hahaha. I just put in about half a cap full of the small bottle into a five gallon bucket, with the nutrients, every watering. If you donot have a giant grow just pick up the smallest bottle. price is somewhere between 10 to 15 dollars and it lasts a long time. I noticed a huge difference in the tolerence of my plants to environmental conditions and bouncing back after stress. My plants donot show any kinds of stress when replanting or topping (once i started using superthrive). Its made of B vitamins and some natural plant hormones so organic farmers use it too. so the answer is yes....with every feeding

Hi,

I was thinking of growing Delicious Cotton Candy next! How have you found the grow so far? Also have you heard good things about it? My first grow is Barney's Pineapple Chunk and a free seed I got with my order. Im not impressed with the Barney's, the seeds looked pale when I got them and they seem weak in comparison to the free seed that is doing awesome. So I want to try a different seed company.

Also I was planning to do a scrog for my next grow but wasnt sure about topping. What are the benefits of topping? How have you found scrogging this strain and is scrogging definately worth ago? By the way im growing with CFL's.

Sorry for all the questions, this post really caught my attention and I would appreciate the help :D

Hey man sorry for the late reply but this is my first grow and it hasn't gave me trouble I do recommend you to top and Scrog this strain if space is an issue i just flipped her into flowering.
