Too Much lollipopping?

Hey guys. FIrst time grower here. I brought my clones and they were very sad. Drooping Nute burn Rootbound ETC. They came back healthy and beautiful. But some of the old leafs that weren't on a stalk and were just growing out of the stem are dead and blocking the light of the new green stalks. I lollipopped about 4 from each plant. Is that too much? Note I did NOT lollipop any stalks. Just the leaf growing straight from the main stem.
Let me know what you guys think.

Your not hurting anything just showing the plant you have love for her. I will try to upload pics of lollipop for you.

Eh? How is that showing a plant you love her lol.
Maybe I'm confused, but actually pulling a leaf off that isn't shriveled up and literally comes off with a gentle push.
Otherwise I believe you're causing stress.

Fan leaves will drop when they're ready, but if you see one that needs a slight help (I'm talking the steam is brown and dried) you can tap it and it'll fall off.
At most I'd remove one that was pure yellow/brown and had parts that were so rusted it crumbles when touched.

Fan leaves = food storage, removing one is like taking a bite of food from its mouth. Let nature do its job or get some lady bugs.

yeah ur fine....see lollipopping would be if u cut those branches off COMPLETELY, but u just cut the fan leaves.....good call for a first timer

I probably should have thinned out the inners more. The result would have been larger colas and less popcorn. I got lazy on her.

Jay is not the OP, he's offering to explain to OP what lollipopping is.
And I agree with canisfree... don't remove fan leaves, even if they look bad. They may not be fun to look at, or make for a great photo-op... but the bottom line is that there is vital energy stored in them, if she's killing them off, it's for a reason. They'll do that for better bud production in the end many times.
But as he said, unless you can touch it and it falls off... leave it alone.
Or unless it's preventing way too much light, and even then, i'd move it over before i'd cut it off...
Just my 2 cents...

IMO there is always a time and place that you can remove fan leaves and lowers. If you remove the lowers and minimal fan leaves to allow light penetration your nugs will have more density, and your tops will get larger. Yes you can stress the plant. That's why timing is important. If your plant has plenty of healthy fan leaves removing a few that are blocking important lowers from light does not hurt it allows light to penetrate 2nd and 3rd sets of buds. Hints more light bigger nugs. Every strain is different, every grower is different, if you find something that works stick with it and don't be afraid to try new things.

That plant will be over 12oz. It still has two weeks to go and it had an old bulb for the first 30 days of flower. I could be wrong but I think the results speak for themselves.
