Yo fellas, just thought I'd let you know about an awful experience with basement lighting, in the hope that you avoid them so the same doesn't happen to you!
I was looking to buy an air cooled hood so I emailed them before i made my purchase as to which hood came with a pane of glass, as some did and some didn't. They replied back saying that air cooled supernovas did. So I bought it (also happened to be more expensive than the others) and it was delivered promptly, however without the pane of glass. That was two months ago now (i did go away for a month though) and since then they stopped replying to my emails and I had to start ringing them on a regular basis to get anything done. I was then was told that the pane of glass was out of stock and so would have to wait another week. After that week i was told that they had placed the order and so fedex must have misplaced it. So i had to wait another week and then finally they send me a pane of glass...but it didn't fit my reflector!
So it was beginning to get on my nerves and so today I phoned up and spoke to someone else, who claimed to run the shop. He was aggressive and impolite and he told me that this hood never came with glass in the first place and that I'd have to sort one out myself. I read him the email they sent me confirming it did come with a pane of glass and told him that his colleague had also confirmed it over the phone. His response was, in these exact words, "he [the colleague] is a complete idiot and will say anything to get you off the phone" - what sort of business is this?! He also said that he needs me to send the pane of glass that didn't fit back, even though his colleague said I should just keep it cause shipping charges would make it pointless. He didn't say please, just said "I want that back", nor did he offer to pay for the delivery of it...
Perhaps the worst part of my conversation was that at no point did he apologize for me being messed around for two months, which you would expect him to do considering that he claimed to run the shop...
So two months down the line, I still don't have a pane of glass for the hood that I paid more for because I was under the impression that it did come with a pane of glass - not happy!
All in all their service has been terrible and I am never shopping with them again - hydrohobby is the way forward!
