To scrog or not to scrog...

Does one need to scrog at all? And please explain what scrogging does. Im doing my first grow,14 days old, in a 34X36 grow box. CFL grow. Transplanting to big pots in a couple of days. 82 degrees. No nutes yet just a couple of drops of super thrive so far(doubled in height). Plants look good. Trying not to screw things up first time around.

No one HAS to scrog unless you have height limitations.
Scrog can be a great way to train plants and keep your canopy even for best light utilization.
Scrogging early can make a plant bushout, and put off more colas.

no need to scrog, just tie branches down and expose as many new growth sites to direct light as possible. this is known as low stress training. scrog-like results.

try to get a veg room going, that way you can have plants ready to go already low stress trained ready to pop into flower as soon as there is space
