Ok i got one bag of cheap potting soil and mixed it with another bag of cow manure they both have the same amount and weigh the same and i added a bag of used coffe grounds to it.

My question is is this to strong for these baby clones i already planted them???

Everything you said sounds bad. Everything. Read up in the newbies "sticky" section. It will help you greatly. Cheers! :)

Seriously though, 50% shit? No.

If you are going to add things like coffee grounds to soil it has to be composted.

You have a couple months of reading to do and then years of trial and error.

I will be of assistance if you need me.

Or you could answer the question or explain and quit giving him a hard time.

I did.

Too much shit.

Coffee grounds not composted.

Cheap soil is a no no.

Then I proceeded to tell him he will need assistance and I will be there to help him.

I thought after I cracked a little humor that I was pretty helpful.

You really should learn to control you impulses. Just because you are cranky this morning doesn't mean you have to snap at me. Good Day.

lol! He has 1 journal entry and over a thousand posts! All kidding aside, I thought your post was very helpful.

To the OP, I agree, you definitely need to read up and perhaps not do anything until you've researched it and understand WHY you are doing it. So many people blast their plants with this or that and then come and ask, "Did I screw my plants up?" Perhaps you should ask these types of questions before acting. This will save you a whole lot of heartache in the long run, trust me.:joint:

There are a lot of those types around here. They are called trolls and they get off on provoking a response from folks like you and I who only want to help. It's best to simply ignore them. Notice how he offered absolutely no help whatsoever to the OP?:fire:

However I would like to add... Cheap soil CAN be used if you jazz it up with bat shit and wormshit. There are a lot of products to work with.

are you serious, there was no attacking. If you call that helping, I'm glad you aren't a teacher. Is that comment an attack?

What are the Consequences of him having his plant in it would've been a good explanation.

and doc, quit talking like that. and I can't help the OP, but someone who says he could, isn't... which is why I was kind of baffled. please don't bring that energy around me

To the OP:

If you feel we weren't helpful enough then my apologies. You have to understand one thing though. If you need someone to tell you why a plant won't grow in 50% cow shit then you r3ally need to do some research before you start trying to clone.

Cloning, while easy, can be very challenging for a beginner.

Clones do not need soil with any nutes. They have no roots to uptake. If they did. 50% cow shit is not an acceptable substrate. For, obvious reasons, I thought.

At a most clones need to be folaired with some vitamins, kelp stuff like that.

Also cow shit has to be composted too along with coffee grounds. If cow shit or bull shit still smells like shit then it is not safe to use. Manure should smell somewhat fresh.

You need to read up on the process of composting and what the science is behind it.

The cow shit has been composted i bought it from walmart its called earthgro steer manure. And i mixed it with the earthgro soil. But the thing is it says that the manure is mixed with other compost. Do you think my plants will burn up? Im not worryed if it grows some scwhag its just my first time growing ya know.

If they are just throw away seeds, I say go ahead and experiment it, but it doesn't sound bad, just don't overwater it and be cautious of the acidity of your plant, with all those nutrients I'd say to keep your PH at around 6.5-6.9/7 to prevent nutrient lockout. but I think you could judge for yourself as you're going through the grow what is right or wrong. good luck.

How long ago did you cut and then plant these clones? Are they still standing up and green? They won't root. The soil is too hot plus the coffee is not composted.

For cloning I have had success with jiffy soil in the little pack. It even says something like "great for cuttings" on it. but I thing it may be labeled as a seed starting soil. Not sure.

Try the jiffy seed soil and use dixie cups. Put holes in the dixie cups and fill with soil and lightly pack. Soak soil with ph'ed water. I normally soak the soil while still in the bag and scoop it out wet.

You can add some stuff to the jiffy soil like a little b viatmins for when they root. Jump start and B-52 by AN is good stuff. An is expensive but all you have to do is setup a nute budget then it doesn't seem so bad.

Cut clones as you already seem to know how, dip in rooting hormone or not and stick in soil. Cover with humidity dome or upside down rubbermaid storage bin. Keep a little light on then for 18 hour then dark for 6 hours.

After about 1-2 weeks you should start to see the clones develope new growth. Your roots are now growing Congrats.

The key is to keep the soil at just the right moisture while they root.

Too moist and your sems will rot. To dry and they will die. Just check them 4-5 times a day or more and you shouldn't have to add that much water. The jiffy soil holds a good ratio of water for clones. But do not use it for veging because you need more air than the jiffy soil can provide.

So after clones have rooted well you should transplant to good quality soil with lots of perlite.

It could burn your plants. The major problem with too much manure of any kind in your soil is drainage and texture. Cannabis typically prefers soil that has plenty of drainage and aeration. Manures tend to compact easily and retain too much moisture. Too much CAN cause an imbalance thereby burning your plants or locking out other important nutrients. If you are a beginner and you want to grow in soil, I recommend purchasing a high quality bagged potting soil like Fox Farms Ocean Forest, or Roots Organic. Something that has plenty of composted organic nutrients and guanos and such. Manures can also throw off the pH of the medium if you don't add some amendments like dolomite lime or oyster shell as a buffer. There are a lot of different organic soil mix recipes in the Organic sub-forum if you prefer to mix your own. Just make sure the amendments you are using are appropriately composted and that you don't use too much of any one thing. This can cause all kinds of headaches which is why I recommend to any beginner to just buy a quality bagged potting soil that has all the organic goodies already composted and mixed in the right quantities.:weed:
