To harvest or not

Simple issue... my baby's trichomes are mostly white and milky with about 10 - 15% starting to go amber... good time to chop her down right?

The only thing stopping me is she is still making buds and has fresh calyxes with fresh pistils still being created. Should I cut it now or wait until she stops producing buds?

Pics? I've had strains that never stopped throwing pistils and the way I have judged them is by how swollen the buds are, and what the trichomes look like. Sounds like you have a possible candidate to harvest depending on what it looks like.

What's the strain? Have you grown it before? Has it been flowering a reasonable amount of time?

Excuse the darkness lights are off for my photo period in the tent.

The one in question is Alaskan Purple Auto by seedsman. She has been growing for 24 weeks so she is def at the right amount of time.

Kind if hard to judge my bud density as last grow this strain grew really airy buds and this go round its doing the same.

Clearest pic I could get...

I'd say not ready yet as there are a ton of white pistils and the ones I can see that have turned orange/brown are still sticking out. Hard to say for sure though the pictures are not the best.

Something is wrong if it's 168 days old...

Like what? I haven't seen any real issues and there was no issues throughout the grow...

For reference my last Alaskan Purple auto went 13 weeks (91 days) and this is what she looked like before I chopped her down.

Currently this grow is at day... funny enough 13 weeks (91 days)... just did the calculations...

What I'm seeing looks close but not quite ready. Probably a week or two. As for the auto, and timeframe and all that jazz I have no real opinion. When I grow I just grow it till it's done and try to keep my expectations low as far as how long it will take. Sometimes things finish quickly, sometimes they take a while, I just keep them alive and hopefully thriving. Good luck

How much longer? The trichomes are almost all milky with like 10 percent going amber... am I just waiting for the plant pistils to start turning amber?

Not exactly just that but the calyxes that have white hairs don't look like they've finished swelling, which is what helps increase yield. I'm sure if you chopped now you'd get high but I'd keep watering it and watch it over the next week. Make sure you water still, if it dries out this will make a difference come harvest, at least in my experience. Like I said you can chop but I like to wait at this point. You're in the home stretch.
