Hi everyone i run and operate a small mail order seed company and through all my trails and errors over the years I thought Id share a couple thoughts.
I noticed dealing with individuals whos soul motivation regarding the cultivation of our great plant is money there is more chance for things to be looked at through those capitalist eyes and often Ive obtained the best genetics from breeders who have a genuine love for the plant not just the money that plant could bring.
More seed dealers put selling volume ahead of offering great customer service. For me the shipping was huge when I dealt with mail order seed companies, its a great feeling to order something like this through the mail and and able to know and rely on the product and the person promoting and selling the product.
Another point: when I was dealing with mail-order seed companies I always send a quick question to thier email and see how fast they reply. If they take more than 48 hours I wouldnt order, that tells me the person in charge either has too much business and cant keep up or they may be a scam just checking in once and aawhile and focusing on the people who were going to buy. So if you send a question and get a reply in a timely fashion its a good indication.
Finding a great mail order seed comapany can be difficult but many people dont want to drive to a store that takes time, they dont want to be seen (most people I find would prefer privacy. If the company passes your email test the best you can do is make your first order with any seed company a small one to make sure you get what you paid for.
Anyone have any tips for buying seeds mail order?
