Tinctures

Just harvested and thinking of making cannabis tincture because the cannabutter is making me fat... However I don't like alcohol which is what tinctures involve... I heard you can use vegetable glycerin instead. Does anyone have any experience of this? Thanks

Look into BHO just understand you need to get rid of all the butane before you put it in the oven to decarb it @ 255 °F w/e your preference is.

Never blast indoors and always wear eye protection when doing BHO.

You can use vegetable glycerin. I never had good luck with it. I use 190 proof Everclear then use a hot plate outside to gently boil off the Everclear then add the vegetable glycerin. Can make it as strong as you like within limits without the sting. I usually do the quick wash.

Agree that this is a good way to go. I've been decarbing (leaving as whole flower, not grinding), freezing the flower & the alcohol (198 proof instead of 190 proof Everclear)...doing a cold-extraction in the freezer, then evaporating the alcohol off to get FECO. From there you can dissolve the FECO in glycerin or alcohol or probably a fat/oil if you wanted.

MCT oil(liquid coconut oil), organic and healthy to eat. Cook your bud in the oil(i use 160f for 2 hours and use the standard butter ratio of 2 cups of oil per oz). Easy, healthy and no need to boil/purge anything.
