Time to top? if not how long?

here are my two plants.. bigbud and blue mystic

the bigbud isn't as thick as the blue mystic

anyways my question is can and should i top now?

Of course you can but I would wait a little longer. I say 10-12 inches or when the plant has at least 4-5 nodes.

looks like your plant is making it's 5th to 6th node. I would definitley top now rather than wait. The earlier you top, the earlier you can top again... the more colas you will have. It's high stress training but great results.

ok how about if i want these to be mothers for clones. how long until i can take clones?

do i still want to top these if i'm only using them as mothers? or is topping ONLY for geting more main colas.

bend the top over and LST a bit, its in the growfaq if your unfamiliar, anyway all the smaller side branches will be exposed to direct light and grow alot larger, giving you many branches that will be good for cloning, shit also works well for more bud when u flower too, and there isnt as much stress as when u top em
