time to identify

everyone i know this question is a very noob question, but when does the female plant sprout the little hairs to identify it as a female? my sproutlings are about a week old now and i want to get rid of the males asap but i dont want to accidently get rid of a female plant.

It takes quite a while for the plants to show preflowers (5 weeks-ish, but strain dependent). You can usually tell sex when the plant starts growing staggered single nodes, rather than 2 at a time.

It takes about 2 weeks into flower to be able to tell, although some have superhuman powers and techniques and can do it sooner.

You don't have to get worried about it, the pollen takes time to develop before it is usable so when you are able identify them you still plenty of time to get rid of them.
