Third times the Charm! Lowered inhibitions, and more knowledge.

Day 0

Well this is my third venture, and its been less than 2 weeks since i fried my other plants over a 7 day vacation with 105+ temps, and no water , thats alright though no biggie. I germed a few bagseeds in a cup of distilled water over night, and one split, removed it and put it into a towl and @ 24hrs taproot was showing, at 48 taproot was 1/2" long. Really hoping the vigor of it isint lending itself to a dude.

Anyway this is to start or kick off this grow.



So i planted One, thats the names, Two hasn't even cracked yet. We'll see what it does.

So i planted one at 1/2" long taproot, poked a thin shallow hole bout 1" into the soil, inserted then filled over with dry and dampened surface of already wet soil.

Added my circulation fan in today as well, alot cleaner than it was last time. Hopefully it can stay that way



Got it sitting on a cd holder for closeness. to the lights and plan to keep it relatively close at all times to keep stretching to a min. Scrog will never be more than 2" from bottom of hood, at any time. I will make sure of that.



I have it on 24/0 right now and plan on keeping it on there for a few days until it breaks surface, than into a 18/6 cycle. Temps have been keeping at 90-94F daily in my room, should be slightly lower in my closet closed off, we'll see what she levels off to, right now its high but workable over time.

Not sure right now if i wanna top it or just LST it, use the topped part of it to sex it and then use it as a clone if its a girl. I fear that i'll be loosing some time if thats the case though and its a boy.

Anyway will update at surface break with day 1 Details.

Yea they do, i have that size one, and one about 3 times the height, i just need a middle one and i'll have a stepped set i can use for spacing and all, then the bottom notch being sitting inside the hole.

No sprouting yet. Should be another few days.

Moved the cabinet back into the closet yesterday and temps were up to 101F this morning after only a short time, temps were down to 84F last night in the box though, the closet has a single vent to it, and 2 doors, i usually keep it closed off to keep it cooler, but have had it open for a week or two since the others scorched so its alot warmer than it was in there. So i moved it out in the last little while into my bedroom, paddle fan and a few ac vents, and temps were dropping down to 96F and dropping so hopefully the closet will cool down significantly with closed doors and no light.

Temps are still high though.

Day 1

I'm not going to post a picture, seedling has poked its head out of the ground, and all looks good. Added the cabinet back into the closet today after keeping it closed for awhile, temps are down to 88F last i looked, hopefully it will keep dropping, or level off one.

I hope this is the start of a good relationship, good luck on sexing and a entirely successful grow.

Gonna be rigging up a perminenet scrog here in a few days.

As far as my 2nd seed, Two, has yet to do anything, same conditions, no change in look, split etc, still holding out for another 8 or so days though. We'll see.

BTW Thank you sir, i'll surely need it, gonna 24/0 it for a few days, and mist it now and then gonna hit it with some molasses every few weeks or more. After it gets to a good 1-2" i'll switch over to 18/6 and stay there for a few weeks until she fills out the screen i'm going to be making this coming week. This is just a plan, we'll see what happens.

Day 2

This little things got some vigor to it, growing very quick, i just hope its not a freakin dude at the rate its growing. I have it on 18/6 right now.

BTW happy to report that temps are back down to 87-89F in the closet, and at night it hit 74F last night. Cabinet high 91F, thats a record on both, so somethings different.

Also worth mentioning is by turning the circulation fan completely off, the negative pressure inside is working properly now, and temps are easily 5*F lower off than when on. Just worth noting, though i would like to have something vibrating/blowing on it for strenthening, but it should be fine without it ay?

another thing peeps often dont think about with fans is that they are little heat inducing electric motors... that might even be where your temperature was actually coming from.... either way, i would think being cooler would do more good than the fan... specially since the ScrOG will support weaker budsites... but try and figure out how to add your fan back at some point... maybe run it at lights off?

I hope your right about it being a girl, haha, other seed hasn't done jack crap yet.

I'm gonna see if i can find a cheap little 80mm cpu fan and wire it up someway.

But i'm gonna start using the fan at night, or atleast when i remember to.

I think the fan is just breaking up the outward airflow. Temps are at 86F right now.

Will update with another picture in another day or so i guess.

do some Googleing on simple relay wiring... also known as solenoids... you can make your timer turn your fan on when it turns the lights out with $5-$10 worth in parts and a soldering rig

Growth seems to have slowed some, stem has turned a little more on the purple side down low, temps have dropped nicely.

High 91F, now - 85F. Low 75F

I know its been rainy here and slightly lower ambient temps, but thats freaking great, just hoping it'll stay there when it gets hot again. lol.

all you are doing is using the timer to trigger the relays... when it goes off, one relay closes and the other opens... make sure your amperages and such are cool... fire is bad, m'kay.

Day 5

Temps are consistant 85-88F, high over the last 3 days was 88F, low was 77F. Sitting at 87F right now.

Shes starting to get some size on her, each leaf is about 3/4"-1" long, height 1.25". Sorry bout the blurryness hard getting a bead on something that small in focus lol.

I'm planning on topping at the 2nd node to keep growth very low to maximize grow height above the screen with enough arms to spider out in a spinwheel, then gonna scrog those 4 arms, or go with 6. Either way my first grow 6 heads was ideal imo, i had alot of budsites and a very organized grow, she just never would stop vegging and flower, lol. Hmm

Yea, i figure another week and she'll take off as the more surface area they gain the more exponential the growth and water consumption will be.....my problem, i just hope she's a girl, i'll be very pleased if she is. Other seed is still bla and mia.

Not sure if i'm getting any stretching yet, height seems normal, lower stem is purple. I've got it on a 16/8 cycle right now, and will probobly slowly start dropping it down 2hrs every week. By that time she should be showing some sex and scrogging at that time.

Hopefully all will go as planned. Temps at 86F as of now.

the color of the stem seems normal to me for seedlings... and the growth isnt stretchy... it *could* be shorter and stouter, but we could all be millionaires too

i dont know that i recommend your playing with the lights like that while still trying to get through to your first harvest. keep it standardized for now, no experimenting with 36 hour dark cycles and the like either.... yet

once you smoke that first hit of what you grew then you can start playing with non-standardized things

Haha i hear that, so straight basics. I can agree with that, i'll stay on the current cycle till i switch over. Clones are so much more fun lol, it'll be a few weeks before i get to a point where i can do any significant training..... gonna go for a 1/2-3/4 full screenthen start flower.

Day 8

Temps have been alittle warmer recently but still not above 90F which is awesome.

She's growing nicely, but man i hate going from seeed.

LOL, yeah the first bit in seed seems so slow!

the good news is you have pics, so you can see the differences a little easier.

awesome plants. our plants are pretty close age wise and i also have some pretty good pics. the attachment is one of my plants from yesterday at day 15 i think. they sprouted at different days and i have been getting pretty blazed lately and forgot how old they were. check out my grow journal here...
