Third seedling try

Hi,

I had 2 bad seedling tries...

1.

2.

I hope it was over watering...

Now is the third try and I need your help. (:

I put it in giffy, in the soil, on the 6 to mars.
I gave the soil 5.8 ph tap watter (with johnny green ph down) before putting the seed in the giffy, and that's it.

Indoor 60 X 60, new quantum 150W board 80 cm about the pot, Temperature - 25-28 Celsius ,Moist - 45% +-.

It popped out on the 10 to mars.
The minutes it popped out, I removed the heat mat.

Its looks good, the thing is the soil around the giffy became green..
Is it normal? this is cause the quantum light? The ph?
Should I do something?

Also, advice on watering will be great, should I do it carefully only from above or should I wait for it to be total dry and give it until I see water going down from the pot holes?

Here are some photos,
Thanks!

Just something for you to think about. I started 6 seeds on Feb 16, transplanted to 1 gal pots on Feb 21. Other than the initial watering during transplant, they have only been watered once, and they are a couple days from needing water again. Feel free to look at my journal, don't want to blow up your thread with pics

sorry to see you are having problems getting out of the seedling stage. There are many ways to do it and you will figure one out and then be able to repeat it easily so don't give up! I think your mistake this time was putting the jiffy into another pot too soon, but the important thing now is to save this one. Might be tricky but worth a try. The green is algae growing on the outer cover of the jiffy which got too wet. But don't try to take it out. Save it where it is.
Can you get super thrive? Use 1 drop in a cup of water. If not, just use plain water. Looks like you have dry pockets but otherwise too wet. Excuse my conversion to metric, water I think it would be 2 centiliters of water right by the stem and wait 24 hrs and do it again. By 2 centiliters I mean just 2 thimbles full, does that sound right? Do you have a scale? If so weigh the plant before you water. Weigh the water too and weigh the plant after you water. Don't water again until the weight gets at least down to what it weighs now.

Disagree, .....
Re-read the OP, appears he thinks you put Jiffy pellets in soil and water them to germinate seeds.

Soak dry Jiffy pellet for 15 minutes, plant seed 1cm deep (crater up, point down), place pellet in moist dark place.
Do not water, do not bury (small stones holding Jiffy upright in covered plastic pot or pill box works for me).

Don't put your Jiffy pellet in soil until after it's sprouted, the Jiffy is designed to germinate seeds without outside influence.
You're supposed to keep the Jiffy in a light & water tight container, no need to add any moisture during germination.
I cover these until the head is up.

After the head has come up the tap root is already out the bottom of the Jiffy, which is when you pot it.
I like that tap root covered as soon as possible or it will die off, so I put the Jiffy in coco either the day the head comes up, or next day at latest.

Don't think you have to worry so much about the tap root, the tip will die but it will split out into multiple lateral roots. This plant isn't getting any air to the roots because it's smothered with wet soil and that is why there is algae on the jiffy liner. I only used jiffy's once but pretty sure it dries out faster than the soil he's got packed around it. Anyhow dude, stay focused. Get a gram scale. Weigh it. If it doesnt get lighter it isn't drinking so don't water it again. If you want to go the coco crap route, you open up a whole world of other shit you have to learn about. Get it right in soil first imho.

I'll throw my 2 cents in, I used Black Gold organic soil, Great White microbes, Mykos during transplants, Grow More 30-10-10 half strength for veg, 0-50-30 for flower, Cal mag and silica solution. Soil is so much better to learn how the plant responds to different things and to identify deficiencies. My first grow, above method, 1 plant in a 4.5x4.5, 713g, and quite potent

What growing medium are you using soil or coco if you using coco the ph is fine if your using soil you will probably have to up the ph a bit depending on the brand. But yeah it looks like your over watering it.

Yes but this is a big pot, I am using the smallest possible.

Where can I see your journal?
Thanks

I never watered it, its only from the first soil before planting the seed.
This time with the smallest pot possible to prevent errors.

I have root juice from biobizz, also RO water and ph down.

So u suggest just 2 centiliters with a stem and not to fully water to get runoff water out the bottom? do I get it right?

Fertilizer? Hold off on the nutes right off of the start too..good chamce you might be frying those sensitive little roots

Use a spray bottle to water, just saturate the surface when it's dry, once a day is usually enough...get familiar with your pots dry weight.
Yes that what I did at the first week, it was OK. then I was told (and read) that I need to water until I get get runoff water...
How the surface watering is getting to the root? Will it be enough?

Not yet, just bought it after the second fail.
The root juice is for the first 2 weeks only...

What do you think?
I thought about low dosage, only 1 ml for litter (the recommendations are 1-4 ml for litter)

No fertilizer unless a person is using Coco...most plants have enough sugars to support themselves until first leaf..
I'm really curious as to what is going wrong here...as this is not that difficult at this stage...

Perhaps skip the cubes and put the seed directly in ordinary potting soil...Those different mediums are likely to create an issue with absorbing excessive moisture if the plant is not big enough ..those cubes will just hold moisture like a dense sponge and roots will rot...

Best of luck

Worked well for me man.. after they grew their 3rd set of leaves I began actually watering, but if you check my grow, you'll learn I water from the bottom up after seedling stage and throughout https://www.rollitup.org/t/first-time-grow-putting-cfls-to-the-test.1006983/
