Think My PC or E-mail got Hacked Somehow

I got an e-mail from my mortgage lady who I hadn't talked to in over a year...Apparently "I" sent her an e-mail with a link in it....

My gf also got two different e-mail from me...Both no subject with links in the e-mails...

I checked my outbox but there was nothing in there....

Anyone know how these hacks work ? And what I can do to stop it ?

I just ran Malwarebytes but it didn't pick up anything...

That's crazy... sounds like you got hacked... I had samething happen with a yahoo account... it just became active again sending random emails after 2 years of no use, I even contacted yahoo and had them delete it permanently.... The emails still get sent from time to time to this day. It's kinda creepy. Anyway good luck on that one...

ive gotten those emails from friedns. i think you just need to do what urca said. your password must be really easy.

Your system is a zombie. It is being controlled by a spammer.

Send an email to all of your contacts and inform them your system has been compromised, and they should delete anything they receive from "you" for the time being.

Download and run Spybot.

trust me on this, I used to hack computers for an IRC warez channel. You have a virus. Download this http://free.antivirus.com/hijackthis/ and run it. Give us the log and we'll look through it for any potential viruses. If possibly please close as many processes running as possible

change the password and contact the e-mail provider before they delete your acct.

tell EVERYBODY not to click on any link... happened to me once and 'i emailed' my mom... she clicked and f-ed her computer, compromised her itunes acct, her camera got infected... it was everywhere...
