Hi,
I think I have a genetic hermie. Without posting pics of it, here are the traits/questions.
1. It is three weeks or so into 12/12 flowering.
2. It showed female 2 weeks or so ago but the hairs are few and far between where they are showing and are not standing upright, very scraggly.
3. There is a lone small male ball about 3 nodes from the top, looked like it wanted to spring hairs but only is getting bigger and more ball like over the last 5 days.
4. There is no hair growth at the ball stem/level.
5. This is from a batch of freebies over Christmas from Nirvana.
Does it seem likely that a genetic hermie tends not to produce growth sites that seem to be "glowing"? You know that beautiful hair/pistil growth on the pics of succesful flowering on this site and others that make them look almost flourescent green? Mine seems retarded in that sense and seems to be struggling to grow hairs and grow them upward and not all scraggly like the hairs are growing now.
Has anyone noticed funny tendencies with these types of free giveaways from seedbanks? i.e. "these seemed alright in the lab but several customers claimed hermie on this batch, so lets quarantine and freebie em"!
I wonder if this is actually or close to what happens at seed banks. I would then know to skip the freebies altogether as my grow space and time horizon are very tight.
