Thin stem

Hi

This is my first post so hi to everyone and go easy on me i have my first plant on the go its about 5/6 tall but the stem is very thin how do i get it thicker im only using natual light i have it on my window sill above the rad. and have made a diy tent so all the heat goes up to it and the light from the window
what can i do ????

tie her down into Low Stress Training or LST, it will help fatten those stems and help control the height

Also a fan blowing on the plant causes stems to thicken and be stronger.

Hey wayn123 and welcome , you will want to give it a light breeze from a fan so the lil girl is swaying back and forth but not violently. What this does is create tears in the stem and when it repairs the stem gets thicker. Hope I helped just my 2 cents.. Good Luck.

a fan would help but it might just be that way due to the light source.

have you got the heat off the rad venting up to the plant? if so you dont want it to hot, also a fan will thicken the stem up in no time.

If you tie the stem down sideways, you'll be amazed how thick that badboy will get. Just be careful not to break it. I usually use a counter tie the other way for support.

thanks where the plant has grown so tall is it safe to cut it in half or will it die i have now moved it with a fan blowing on it and some light all in a wooden box coverd up
