the smell of veg plants

i have 4 bruce banner #3 plants from seed going in veg right now, couple more weeks before i flower. Im really surprised at how massively different these 4 phenos are so far. completely different leaf structure, plant structure, color, and smell. I have one plant that is an absolute monster, like really is hulking out. really fat huge leaves, measured one leaf blade at 8 3/4 inches. Crazy vigor, huge growth every day, no smell. Just green plant smell after handling it. On the other hand i have a much less vigorous plant, smaller thinner bladed leaves, not the most vigorous, thinner stalks, but damn when i handle this plant, my hands smell like the fruitiest dankest weed ever. Ive never got such a strong smell from a veg plant. Is this most likely a good indicator of the most potent phenos? Kind of a bummer if so, i wanted the hulk plant to be the one i clone for a mother just because it grows so well.
Heres why im asking, im in a bit of a dilemma. plan was to just take cuts from all 4 before flowering, then after they finish and i know who is most potent, decide who makes the cut and keep that cut as a mother for next grow. Problem with that is, its gonna be like 3 months from the time i take cuts to the time i have dried bud to test. I do not have room to grow all those cuts for 3 months before deciding who is mother. i have a separate 2x2 tent that would be great for one mother if i prune it down and give it minimal light, but not 4 of them. i guess i can grow 4 cuts for like the first 3 weeks of flower, but then i have to make a decision. any advice on picking a mother? should i follow my nose and pick who smells the best now? this grow is for personal so im not really too concerned about picking the best yeilder, which im sure will be the hulk plant, but i have a feeling probably less potent.

Keep the clones in small pots, top as much as possible as low as possible, and keep cutting them them back if they get too big for you to handle. Plants do amazing things towards the end of their cycle and you don't want to regret missing out.

ok, i guess i should be able to slow them down enough. I suppose another option is cloning the clones once they're too big
