the meaning of 420? 420nm....

I was visiting my old university and ended up talking to a botanist. we got into talking about marijuana oddly enough. so I told him that there is a theory out there that plants grown inside can produce more THC if you add UV light... he said. that might be possible if you have the right wavelength of uvb. the plant may respond in different ways to different UV light. IE UVA vs UVB...he paused for a while and looked at a clock and said 4:20.....hmm UV light can exist as 420nm...maybe that's the secret to getting more thc....

he couldn't tell me if it is in fact the secret to thc production.. because he never heard of anyone trying to grow with a scientific method and figure out if it does make the plants produce more thc..

660nm I know increases flowering sites......uv-c kills mold and mildew........fuck it, sounds legit. Apr20 is also a good time to root my outdoor starts.

There was a study performed on cannabis utilizing UV-B supplementation (cannabis and "hemp").

"The concentration of Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ9-THC), but not of other cannabinoids, in both leaf and floral tissues increased with UV-B dose in drug-type plants."

my thinking would be that maybe something near uv 420nm is pretty damn close to 380nm mind you not exactly uv but maybe close enough to trigger something

if too wet and rainy I blast my finishing plants with UV more on the trics than on the plant

be warned it can damage ya eyes

claims abound thats theres 420 different types of terpens ..?

and 420mm is a great distance to hang your hps of the top most leaf ..lol

Wow I'm glad someone knew. Interesting how things get started. My HS had a "Back Porch" where the tokers went. Was that way for years, teachers, everyone knew. I should have coined it. Who knows we could be smiling when someone says "back porch." Hell yeah I'm gonna Back Porch it!
