Thought I would put this grow under the led section, the build for my wardrobe grow cab is over in steath indoor section, I picked up some teenagers yesterday, they are Donkey Kong strain, from Oregon green seeds, the grow box is 22 deep 36 inches wide and 6 feet tall, I have 2 cree cxa3070 cobs and a mars 300 for lighting

I like the use of PVC for your screens.
Hey Captain, how far apart are your 2 scrog screens?, in the picture above I installed 2 tee's one on the left and one on the right, for uprights to attach a second screen like yours, I thought the expandability may come into play if the plants stretch allot

How to flush if you are going to do two scrog screens like that?
Not sure, been watching others do two plant scrogs in soil, I wonder how they do Thiers, I used to grow in hydro years ago, this soil stuff is the real new part for me

amazing what 1 week can do, lots of new growth, really got a good start filling the screen, I want to be careful not to over veg, we are in the middle of a heat wave here in Oregon, 3rd day its been 100 degree's, I have the AC running in the bedroom and the grow cab temps are right at 81-82 degrees, and the plants look really happy, I am only vegging under the 2 cree cobs to keep the temps down, and they seem really happy with the light, not adding any nutes as they got transplanted into the bigger grow bags with fresh fox farms ocean forrest, here are a few picsIMG_8125.JPGIMG_8126.JPG IMG_8127.JPG

If you were 100% organic you wouldn't need to flush! But the easiest way to flush plants in a scrog is to have a removable drain tray beneath them. You can raise them up with bread shipping trays (think flatter, rectangular milk crates for bread loaves) and place trays your drain pan/tray/etc underneath it. I can snag a picture for a good visual idea if you'd want.

I think I saw something like this on another grow, I am kinda stuck now on this grow, but there will be many more grows, I do like the idea of the tray, if I stay with soil on future grow, I have already constructed some hydro parts but these teenager plants I got were already 18 inches tall in soil, so my direction was sorrta chosen for me, I need to remount my fan and I am going to lose maybe 3 inches in the top, but I may very well have space for a 6 inch deep 30 inch wide plastic storage container under neath them, also if I start from seed or really small clone next time I can bring the scrog screen down lower and maybe have close to the same height, thanks for helping, i am still learning and have much to learn about growing in soil

i guess so far i am organic, as its just the fox farms ocean forrest soil and no nutes yet, or I may not know what the heck I am talking about,, lol, wouldnt be the first time,, hahaha, really as this thing moves on I will need advice, my last grow I got serious nute lock out but it was close to the end, all the leaves died and turned yellow, but the bud is good smoke,, I also hope I dont get insects , last time I got some aphids one one plant on the lower buds, so far no sign of them,

Looking good Tim! I was wondering why you had two of the PVC T-joints facing up, now I know its for a double scrog. I have that on my outdoor, but had not thought about it for an indoor, interesting idea.

Looking forward to seeing the progress! :)

Yes double scrog, just stab in two uprights and the top screen is the same size and shape, the idea is to put it in place as stretch ends to help hold up the weight of the colas I'll stick it in there if needed, I have enough twine pipe and screws to build it, take a look at captain Morgans led grows in the led section, he also posted on this thread, his double scrog is a really good example of doing it right, his also has the five cree cobs in a space similar to your s

Hey Tim its all looking good for round two.

If I would walk in your shoes I would get rid of the growbags next time. Instead of placing a tray underneath them I would run the plants in one simple plastic container filled with soil. Just make sure that no light ca shine trough. If the plastic is clear paint it or just wrap dark tape or some mylar tightly around it so no light hits the roots. You are a handy man so why messing around with trays for flushing? Just drill a hole in the lowest part of your container and get a litle sillcock or valve with a lil peace of flexible tube attached to it. For example something like you use to hook up hydrobuckets in a system just with a valve as upgrade. That way you can open the valve when watering or flushing outside of the box into another little container to catch the water runoff and get rid of it. No messing around no water in the box around.

I am not a professor thats just my two cents...

And with a single container for your 2-3 plants you make a huge rootspace for the plants that means more roots better nute uptake and drying out will not happen too far.
more roots means more buds Tim.
Peace

Edit
as for the container... I would use one that can cover as much space as possible in the cab. A big plus for roots and therefore more bud healthy plants no dry out.

Sounds good, Ihave been reading up on some guys on here who grow big indoor under hps, but he used very large containers, I can see the wisdom in that now, I am watering every three days now, so if I water on Monday morning, then I water again on Thursday morning, I do like the ease of soil in some regards

Everything has its + and - :-)
The big container has big surface that can ad to your overall rh. If thats unwanted just cut a lid for the container into three peaces and cover some of the surface area. Thats it. There is always a solution Tim you are handy as hell and you know there are solutions for everything.

Soil is sooo easy and forgiving. I LOVE soil + big containers just tastes better than the rest imo. Using many
small containers is good for running a flood and drain sog with coco (pure perlite works also very good for that purpose) for example great stuff dry out fast and you can flood feed 4 times a day. Its effective too. Single cola sog plants just love it.
But soil I do in as big as possible containers for best results.

Edit
I make my own partly organic soil by mixing 50% horseshit compost + 50% potting soil and add 30% volume perlite to the ammount of potting soil
For my outdoor. Worms love horseshit.

Peace

If you go back and read my first grow, I had my scrog screen a lot lower, around 6" from the top of the soil.
This lets you get those taller ones spread ALL the way to the outer edges of the cab, allowing tons more light in the middle.
My first grow ever was SCROG and it is a great training technique.
