The difference between outdoor nutes and indoor?

So as far as my limited and often sub elementary knowledge of nutrients goes, the way I understand it is that outdoor nutes have less or even none of certain micro nutrients compared to indoor nutes because most of said micronutrients are often found in the outdoor soil. I beleive this is why they are so much cheaper as well.

Anyway, most people seem to like to grow outdoors in a soil less mix. 95 percent of outdoor grows I see use Sunshine #4. This is the same stuff most people use indoors as well. The medium is technically void of nutrients. Given that fact would it not be better to use indoor nutes outside when using soil less mixes? I am wondering because when you look at a guy like browndirtwarrior, he is using soiless mix outside with AN outdoor Heavy Harvest and getting 2 foot long, football width buds.

Makes me wonder if i should just use Heavy Harvest indoors. Its so friggin cheap compared to the indoor watered down versions.
