The funny thing about pensions. When they are privately funded the pension agreement was made between two consenting parties. Meaning the person(s) paying for the pension has made a commitment of his own free will. When they are "publicly funded" the "free will" part does not exist for at least some of the persons being forced to pay the pension.

Funny huh?

California is probably the most fucked up state in the country, 40 years of proof that liberal run governments are an epic failure.

still incorrect, clayton.
Trust me Sparky, I know a lot more about my state than you just happen to read about on the Daily Kos.

We have over $180billion in unfunded public union pensions that are not in the budget.

You know, the same thing all you lefties were winning about during the Bush era, remember those the unfunded wars that weren't in the federal budget?

Well it seems California has fewer food stamp recipients than the great state of Texas despite having 17 million more people. So we must be doing something right.

You must be looking at an old statistic, California leads the nation in food stamp recipients. Also bear in mind, Texas has only about 100,000 people on welfare where California has 1.5million. California's unemployment rate is 10.7%, Texas 7.2%

Texas is by far in much better shape than California.
