The Best 400w HPS/MH Lamp?

Hello! I don't post here very much, but I visit constantly and link frequently. Rollitup is great!! :hump:

Anyway, I'm currently using CFLs for my grow and I'm looking to upgrade to a HID lamp. I got surprisingly good results with my CFL setup, but I'm definitely ready to upgrade...

Specifically, I'm looking for a 400 watt grow light that will take both high pressure sodium and metal halide bulbs. I've also read about conversion bulbs... a metal halide conversion bulb designed for a HPS lamp, for example. Are these recommended?

I read on another thread someone recommending htgsupply. Are they generally regarded as the best? I'm looking to spend under $150, but I'd be willing to spend up to $175.

All your answers will be mostly opinion with this type of question, as far as I'm concerned there is no "LeBron James" of ballasts and hoods. HTG is a great site to order from, nice and discrete with great customer service. Their bulbs scare me a bit, but their pricing on ballast and hood packages is almost unbeatable. Something to always consider, in this industry a good rule of thumb is you get what you pay for :) Hope that helps

look on ebay. i got a 400w dual ballast and mh bulb and socket for 50 bucks and that included shipping . all i had to do was screw the bulb in and plug it in

Their bulbs scare you?...

I've heard somewhere that they'll give you a price break if you ask them, is that true or do you know?
