I am creating this thread in an attempt to remove the discussion from Cannabis Growing threads. If you have an opinion on the banning and unbanning and banning and unbanning of UB, or if you have an opinion on an opinion, then please feel free to share it here.
Let us please try to keep the conversation civil.
In other words: Take the time for a few deep breaths before posting something "hostile."
For those of you unfamiliar with the situation then I'd like to fill you in. Here are the facts:
Recently, in a thread focused on Gravity and Bushmaster UB took it upon himself to troll the forum pretty hard. It started as the usual UB "snake-oil" routine but got out of hand pretty quick. FDD came in and tried to get everyone back on track but UB refused, and displayed his apathy towards banishment, even encouraging confrontation by saying to a moderator "go ahead and ban me."
So. FDD banned him.
Mere hours later Ben was posting here again, re-instated by another unnamed moderator. FDD again banning Ben.
The discussion continued and the supporters of UB bitched enough to have him re-instated... again... So, at this point, I think UB is still a member of RIU.
People may want you to think this was somehow "political" or a result of one "crew" against another. This is simply not the case. Those familiar with UB know his attitude and behavior and should be reassured knowing that UB brought this upon himself.
To put it one way... UB fought the law and the law won... Only to have the law, and consequences, repealed by his loyal followers.
So how do you feel about the situation? Should some users have the privilege of being "un-bannable?" Was this an over reaction and should have their been a cooling off period? Does UB's history here justify his presence as a member when he has demonstrated his presence at other sites (if you like him so much, it's not like you cannot talk to him elsewhere).
I'll try to post some of my own personal observations, feelings, and opinions later on.
