The 3 in a bed thread :-)

Welcome, thanks for looking in. I grow in a small space and I grow 12/12 from seed or cutting. I grow according to my needs and basically just like to pull a solid dry 1.5 OZ per POT under my 350watts of CFL's. Often 12/12 grows will have poor yield due to lack of maturity and veg time... SO my answer has been to multiplant in very free draining soil mix and water feed frequently, more or less every other day once in full flower.

For your delectation and delight I present my 3 in a bed thread :-) 3 cuttings of Bubba Kush cut from 12/12 grown flowering Mothers (who co star!) and put straight into 12/12 as soon as rooted. I use LST to control height and above all the spacing of my plants to maximise light to all tops.

You join me at:

'Mother' Kush (2 seedplants in 1 pot): day 55 from germination.

3 Kush clones cut from the above at day 2 of 12/12 in a single pot.

I have 13 years experience of growing cannabis and I have always liked to experiement a bit. I find that I keep myself happily supplied from my 1 metre tall and wide cabinet all year round using this method.

Any questions plese feel free to ask, but I'll pre empt the first 2 by saying:

1. I'm happy with CFL's!

2. No, theres no issues in multiplanting with 12/12 from seed/clone as the plant does not have time to put down heavy root systems.

To recap:
12/12 from seed or cutting.
350watts CFL's
Multiplanting
Loam based 'bonsai' compost, 40% perlite.
Target of 1.5 OZ dried per POT.

Thats about it!

Hope you enjoy the pics. Will update weekly as the 3 cuts and 2 seedplants progress to finish.

damn those are sum nice little nugs mayn, how many weeks are they?
Thanks kingswisher.

Those 2 kush are day 55 from germination, 12/12 from seed. They were planted straight into that pot as soon as the tails appeared. Began to show pre flowers at around the 3 week mark. I estimate another 4 weeks to finish at least. This strain finishes to my taste in 9 weeks but when growing 12/12 from day 1 you need to calculate from the first pre flowers appearing. I keep a diary!

Edit* Next up will be 2 x 'Dutch Passion' White Widow fems, 12/12 in the single pot again, soon as the 2 Kush are cut.

Nice looking buds.
I remember back in my younger years. A buddy of mine and I sowed 10 beans in a 5 gal bucket. "bagseed" We ended up with 100% females, but the runt died off in the 4th week of bud.

i didnt know you could have more then one plant in one pot but the buds look bomb so cool man.
Hi FightProtectlive,

Like many things in this hobby of ours you can often break the rules! Some grow in small cups, I prefer to grow in bigger pots and multiplant! depends what you are looking for I guess, but once you get a feel for these plants you can push those boundries a bit!

Stay and watch my cuttings develop?

Cheers,

CV.

Welcome mr.x007,

I know there was a Dutch guy a few years back multiplanting from seeds in one big box and he did amazingly well with them, no issues at all, that was what inspired me to try it. I wouldnt over do it though! 3 are OK if grown 12/12 from day 1, roots stay healthy to the end, good aeration/drainage is essential for this to work.

The 2 Kush above are currently drinking close to 2 litres every other day between them and drying right out between waterings. When you feed you need to remember you are feeding 2/3 plants too! I like to think in terms of the root mass and its requirements.

Water is adjusted to 6.4 PH and the water is taken from my fish tank with all the organic goodness it contains.

Heres a close up showing the 2 stems/training method etc. basically I try to develop a sort of circular pattern, if that makes sense!

Update:

2 Kush plants/single pot: Day 57 12/12 from germination. I estimate allowing for the 3 weeks to show pre flowers they are around the 5 weeks mark with about 4 weeks to go.

Watered and fed today, PH 6.4 added a good pinch of molasses again. Took 2 litres for 10% run off which they quickly absorbed.

3 Kush cuts single pot: Day 6 12/12 from rooting, no veg time.

Single pot Kush cut: had a bit of spare space and a spare rooted cut so threw her straight into 12/12. Shes at day14 today. I have now used the last of my Kush seeds so this one will be revegged to keep for future cuttings. I don;t normally keep mothers but this strain is too good to lose!

Also my small cabinet.

Can You post a pic of the light setup you have in that cabinet?

I really like your style, growing small amounts when needed with 12/12. The great thing is how stealth you can keep that cabinet with the LST plants and quick harvest. I'm going to watch this one!

Thank you MightyThumb :-)

Heres a shot of the inside with plants removed. Very simple.... 350watts of CFL's, 2700K's mostly with a couple of 6400K 'daylights' thrown in to balance the spectrum. Fixed fan at left blowing and exhaust fan at right pulling. Temps stay around 76 to 78 which is pretty well perfect for me.

I dont bother with weights thesedays but that cabinet keeps me smoking happily and I'm a daily/evening smoker but not a heavy user. I only have 3 pots max in there as you can see.

On good days I do take them out and put them in the sun which they love.

I'll get you a shot of the bulbs later. I COULD use a 250 HPS I guess in there but I really see no reason to do that, the CFL's produce fine bud in my opnion, and as long as you train to get the max budsights uptop you dont ned to worry about penetration into the canopy which is the main issue with CFL's in my opinion. I try to keep the buds within 2/3" of the bulbs which I can adjust as required, up/down etc.

I have 16 bulbs wired and spread along the top of the cabinet which gives a good even spread of light.

Is that yarn that you're using to LST? Beautiful setup. How much air do your fans push? Also can you tell us how big your pots are?

Thanks for posting this, I'm pretty sure that I'm going to do something similar because soil + CFL's is so low maintenance it's boring me...which is GOOD. The less complexity there is in your grow, the less there is to screw up! Oh, almost forgot what do you use for nutes?

One more thing, you definitely can abuse cannabis - I'm amazed at how well it endures my not-so-LST efforts. The top of the plant keeps getting too high! I think my plants do it on purpose, they're into bondage.

Er, one more thing! Could you tell us the details of how you personally re-veg after harvest? I ask because I plan on doing that with my current plants. If the smoke I get from them is good they go mother, otherwise it'll just be another crop and they go to canna-heaven.

Hi dontcopnone, thanks for the comments. I also like to keep things very simple. I'll try to answer your questions:

Pots are 11" width, I can JUST fit 3 of them in there! I think they hold 8 litres of soil.

Soil is loam based free draining 'bonsai' compost, little bit more expensive than the standard stuff but worth it for my multiplanting method. I mix up to 50% perlite in there nowdays to keep it very aerated.

All water is drained from our fish tank when its cleaned, full of fishy nurtients :-) PH is adjusted down from 7 to 6.2/6.4 then bottled to keep for my plants. Thats all I use really, drop of superthrive now and then plus molasses regularly during mid /late flowering.

As the compost is ery free draining and dries out fast I need to water every 4th day, up to 2litres for mid/late flowering plants.

Not sure how powerful the fan is but it does its job. I do leave the doors open during the day and the cabinet is in a very light south facing room where the sun floods in on good days. Theres constant airflow through the plants.

I used to reveg a lot of my plants but now I'm more into growing straight from feminised seeds on 12/12, 2 per pot which has worked fine so far, no issues at all.

Thanks for the info!

I know I'm mr thousand questions, but one last one: Do you use a digital pen to test PH? I ask because I have the liquid litmus stuff that comes in a dropper bottle with a little capped tube. Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but the color is always too faint for me to read accurately. I think next time I'm going to try putting less water/fert mix in the tube to see if the color intensifies.

Again, can't say enough about this method of growing. 12/12 from seed is without a doubt the best for us moderate personal stash growers.

Hello mate. I think you hit it on the head there, I only smoke around 21grams a month on average and this is just right to keep me going so I never run out, :-) I guess if a grew more I'd only smoke more, so this suits me!

PH test kit: This is the one I use (link below),,,simple manual narrow range kit, I've been using for a long time now. Very fast and simple to use.... I know that if I add 2 large drops of PH down to my bottles of 'fishwater' and test its always 6.2 to 6.4.

The narrow range kits are easier to see the colours I find.

PH kit UK.

wow man, so about how many lumens do u have in that cab ? those little kush nugs look tasty. so do u just put three per pot?

First we know he has 350w total. I see 25w on the ballast of a 2700k in the pic, so I will assume 68 lumens/watt. 350 multiplied by 68 gives us 23800 lumens.

Thanks for looking in NeoAnarchist :-)

I have never really worked out actual lumens to be honest!

The 2 Kush plants are now at day 63 from date of germination, 12/12 soon as they were out of the ground. Couple more weeks, maybe 3 to finish them, a few brown pistils now showing but shes still pumping out new flowers. Picture below shows the 2 stems and how I train in opposite directions.

The 3 little Kush clones are coming on nicely, another couple of weeks and they should fill the pot.

Finally the Kush cutting I had left and planted in a single 7" pot. Shes at day 20 and I just pulled that top right down, you can see the bud at the end turning back up to the light.

Hope you enjoy the pics.
