So as @Rahz had posted, I will be testing (thanks Rahz!) the TLED T22 3000k 90CRI and the TLED T22 4000k 80CRI lamps. Both are found on the following pages (for specs).

I had planned on having plants in by today but I got delayed with life. I did get everything setup (other than running a new power line as this room is tapped out). Should be up and running tomorrow (have some teen plants ready to go).

As far as the lights, they are well built and are clean! Packaging is very good and they arrived with no damage even though the box was obviously dropped on the corner! I have never purchased pre-built lights (always DIY for LED) so I was pleasantly surprised to find that Rahz even includes ratchet hooks to hang the lights. Go figure, I already purchased a couple more sets. So far, first impressions are good. Very clean setup for sure.

For the grow, I will be utilizing 5 gallon smart pots in soil with 2:1 Fox Farm Ocean Forest and Fox Farm Light Warrior. I have used this combination for 10 years with great success. It will be a negative pressure dual tent setup. Each will be a 2'x4' space and while the light is technically not optimal for this growing space, the purpose is more to compare each light spectrum. Each tent will be given the same strain, in the same size pots (a strain which I have run and understand) to keep the test as legit as possible. So, here are some pics to get started of the light and the setup (pictured is just one tent, my room is quite full now and its difficult to get a complete shot of both tents at the same time as there is an 8x4 tent next to all of this). I have not decided on the strain. It will either be Ghost Train Haze or Holy Grail Kush, both of which are excellent with great feedback from everyone.

Sorry for the lack of updates. Wanted to give the babies a week to adjust, ensure no shock, ect. I transplanted last Monday into larger pots (5 gallons). I initially planned for 4 plants per tent, but due to sizing I adjusted to 3 which will definitely be for the better I believe. I trimmed all plants to where they were pretty even in each tent. Well, about 8 days later they adjusted great. I do believe though the 3000k 90CRI is going to do some amazing things. I already see a HUGE difference in growth with a week in veg state. I did get some initial nute deficiency due to switching from 400w of T5 to 200w of LED, but its already corrected.

I chose this strain over the GTH because it is far less picky and recovers much better from shock. Honestly, you could not tell the plants were even moved other than the nute deficiency. All plants immediately sprouted new growth, however, the plants in the 3000k tent have grown nearly twice as much as the 4000k plants. You could say that maybe the plants were shocked, but given that they were sprouting new growth within days of the changes and that all 3 plants are growing at the same speed, Id say the light plays a big part. This is where the argument may get interesting and maybe after this run, I will veg for longer and do some testing in that respect.

So here they are. They look bare, but I assure you, it wont be for long ;) Plenty of bud sites already started and the plants are showing already so they should be off and running. I flipped the timer today so they begin 12/12 today. I will switch to 10/14 the last few weeks. I will also be doing a serious prune about week 4 as well as a fan deleaf within the last 2 weeks of flowering. Temps are 78* w/ 45% humidity and plenty of air flow (I have NEVER had an issue with mold, probably because of our dryer climate and the fact that humidity is hard to come by). I will do my best from here on out to at least take pictures daily and post. With opinion updates weekly. Please no shit talk about my trellis :) I see those nice PVC trellis' with perfect strings and while I have done it in the past and love the look, I find that temporary netting is much more enjoyable to deal with when you have to crop and everything is spidered about while providing the same goal.

does the new units have a dimmer? I'm sure you are, but they veg well on lower settings and getting the light a bit closer. I find if I can control the growth, I cant get closer nodes, even if it cost me a few days for more favorable plant archetype.

this is a bit of and after though, but some trays might help spare you some clean up after then run is done. those tent trays are harder to clean then you think, the texture seems to trap gunk.

Yeah, I dont have too many issues cleaning. Usually use some Clorox wipes and they do a great job of cleaning/disinfecting. Yes, the lights have dimmers and work great but veg time was very minimal with the lights.

So 2 days since the last picture. Quite a bit of growth. Plants are looking good and full in bud cycle. Still MUCH more growth in the 3000k tent than the 4000k. Whats crazy is that 90CRI brings the "white" out of the LED for sure. All of my 3000k 80CRI vs. 3500k 80CRI is quite obvious in color (3500k is more white, 3000k much more yellow). Here, it is the complete opposite with 90CRI. I did do a little bit of tucking on the branches as well. Depending upon stretch in areas, I may tuck a few more branches to spread out the bud sites we will see.

lower your fixtures to improve the run...............imo

good luck grower
Yeah, Ive been debating it. The issue is spread, but I may say fuck it. Currently running about 18-20" off canopy. Any lower, and outer edges are very limited. One of my biggest gripes with pre-built fixtures personally :) Framed cobs are killer in that respect!

The T22 is meant for a 2x2-3x3 tent so outer edges of a 2x4 will be fairly low.At 18-20 inches the numbers under a par meter should be good at the center of the tent. I'm not sure lowering the lamp will do anything for the total yield... Best consistency in a 4x4 was at 24"... but for the purpose of the test any height will do. Do you have a par meter @doz ? I'll need mine a couple days from now but could send it to you after that if you wanted to take some measurements.

Hey Tasty bro. The T22 kit at $310 looks good.

Can two of these come close to a 1000 watt SE HPS for flower? Thanks.

4 of them would equal a 1000w DE for only 825w from the wall but two of them will only provide 204 par watts, compared to a 1000w SE which provides about 350 par watts.

Still looking good. For less than a week into flower, they are really showing well. Temps are still in the mid to upper 70s in the day, about 68 at night. Better growth still in the 3000k tent by far.

Lmk asap wood u get 3k 90cri or 80. Thank good i seen thiss u help me out dude cuz now ill get 3k and not 4k and i do 35k my self outstock. Now. Lmk asap

Based on what I have seen so far, and keep in mind its early, but I would definitely pick up 3000k 90CRI.

Honestly, I would get 3000k no matter what if its for flower only. I firmly believe that 3000k 80CRI will beat out 3500k 80CRI/4000k 80 CRI in a flower test.

I would have to do more veg testing but based on a week long preliminary result, the 3000k 90CRI vegged better than the 4000k 80CRI.

Ok, sorry for the delay on update (although this early, its still kind of boring :) ). Still, the exceptional growth continues in the 3000k tent. Surprising really to see this large of a difference! Cant wait to see the end results on weight. Still getting good growth in the 4000k, nothing to be ashamed of. I did lower the lights a little, but both tents are staying even in reference to the canopy (although both canopies are pretty close to equal height). Very pleased with the first week of growth. Lights just turned on for the 9th day of flower and growth is solid. Considering this strain needs no less than 9 weeks (and could possibly push 10 if you wanted to take it that deep), things are looking good!
