OK guys I have had really bad luck when it comes to figuring this out, there are so many people saying different things if you would take time and choose whether you plant with the tap root up or tap root down and tell me your opinion why. The tap root is what you see when you germinate seeds in the paper towel and then plant. Here is a pic, I am just making sure you guys know what I am talking about.

The tap root goes DOWN.... always.

Some people say it doesn't matter because the seed will right itself if you plant it upside down. To me that sounds like nonsense..... why make a little seed have to work hard to right itself when you can just plant it correctly in the first place. ;)

Seriously- plant them down. I also had read that you can plant up because the natural growth pattern of the root is to curl in on itself and point down. HOWEVER, when I did this, I ended up with the root sticking out and the seed dying. EVERY time I've planted down, I've started a successful seedling. So as far as I'm concerned, it's incorrect guidance to plant the tap root up, period the end.

Racer, you're hilarious! Too funny...

Why not lay the seed in sideways. Then it can grow anyway it wants to, just like it would do if you planted them before germinating

I sow my seeds in a similar manner to mother nature. This is irrelevant, nature doesn't give a shit about peoples opinions :D

I have also read to plant it up. Never did though. It just didn't make any sense to plant it up.

No wonder all the leaves on my plants are upside down.
