Going to be growing a SOG using ebb and flow, I will have both a hot and cold water sink unit in my grow room so tap water is right there however I have a huge rain collector basicly drains from roof into huge barrel more then enought to supply me with water, but would it be better to use rain water over tap?

Nothing wrong with tap water imo I use it until I flush and then use distilled as my tap water is 400ppm and very hard.

use the tap water....you will want to fill containers to let sit out for 24hrs so that the chlorine in the tap water dissapates....
