A month ago I ordered two 4ft t8 led replacement tubes in 5800k for vegging. Each tube is $58. I put them to use last week on some spinach and this is how we are doing so far. They were just watered this morning when i took the pic. these are single spectrum leds @ work.

Specs each tube is 15w 1500lm
I had them custom make the led angle to 60 degrees.
The operating temp is 104 degrees a little high but not too bad. Better than most manufacturers out there right now.

These tubes are really designed to replace fluorescent bulbs and save the buyer money over the life of the unit. The sixty degree option is typically used in fixtures that are higher up and need a focused angle.

lets see how they do in the next few weeks.

SUBBED, curious on your results. I saw some cheap ass some of these, if these work for u, then maybe ill pick up a few, for cloning. Love the thought of using 1 15w of these for cloning instead of 2 26w cfl

I know, it just seems to make sense, saving money. I think full spectrum warm/soft white is where leds should shine the most. I have no science or any evidence behind my claim as you cant really buy a pre-frabitcated single spectrum white grow light. I am looking forward to doing some "white led" grows though in the future. These units I have now seem perfectly good for getting these seedlings started. Lets see how they look in a few days.
