t5x8 vs. HPS

So when in nature the plants grow in the heat of the days of summer the main growth is during the brightest parts of the hottest days. Days can be cooler of course but lets not digress. So that is the veg cycle time frame for the plants. When the light becomes less the plant starts to bloom. Less light. So I use in veg H/O blue spectrum t5s with 8 lamps, they are 48". The plants love it and I mean love it. You would be hard pressed to grow them faster or better. May I add here it is all hydro. My question is then with the great results under These why would they not do just as well under them with the red bulbs in for 12/12 blooming as opposed to a high pressure sodium lamp? I have that too in a 1000 agro sun but I am thinking if they grow so well under the t5s in veg that they would do at least as well under the t5s in bloom? Why would they not? Remember the blue bulbs would then be changed to red spectrum bulbs. Good question. Also I have two units that would be just a bit less watts than the one hps and have more surface area and, imo, a larger area of coverage. The heat issues would be less to a degree as well. Also my hps in on a 6' rail mover. Any thoughts that have real world experiance are welcome. Any good reasons in other words if you wish to respond... Thanks.....

iam all for the t5s but that's a 400 watt system there and if you want nugs you should go a little bigger on the watts so 600 would be the next size up dildo for your plants you blew out there holes in veg now the want something bigger
and you can bloom under a t5 ive seen it done with surprising results its just with most people they want more

I said I have two t5x8x48' units. At 54 watts a bulb you do the math. That is just under a 1k hps as far as watts. For the other part, does it do well to use them in bloom. Has anyone ever really done it with these like this? That is two 8 tube units end to end it is a lot of light so my question is why would the plants not do just as well as they did in veg?? With the different spectrum bulbs of course like I said? If the plants love them in veg why oh why would they not in bloom. Someone please help answer that question!!>? Seems like they would love it just as much or more.... But what do I know....

I started and finished with t5 and had great results had to for stealth. Plant to prove it is my avatar t5 8 bulb 4 ft long one four foot on wall to shoot across and one energy saving bulb in the middle of my four used fox farm for nutes veg and flower and molas. the last month. i just cut two down had four in 5 gallon pots other two are 10-12 week flowers. Guy recommended red ones for everyother in the 8 bulb also but didnt try this time will next.

I can unequivocally guarantee that flowering the plants under 1000 watts HPS will yield more than double what a 400 watt T5 system will. REGARDLESS of what type of light you are using. Simple matter of power, more power more buds.

That is what I hear but I don't see it. I see finished hps grows but not a finished t5. I told you I have two sets of 8 so with that I bet I would get a hell of a bud up. I use 1k hps now for flower but I see the amazing results in veg and can not for the life of me understand if you use them for flower why you would not get great results. Want a example of them finished. The sellers of these swear they are great and I just have to think they might not be lieing seeing the results in veg!!! Want a pic of a finish!!!!

You don't expect the seller to say" They suck, no good, terrible don't buy them" If I sold Dog Shit for a living I would tout its great attributes and all the happiness it will bring you, but in the end its still just dog shit.

All sales people will tell you that their product is the best on the market, no one is going to say its not and then lose your business.

I can guarantee it because i have done it. Sure the Fluoro grows look good, but once its dried and cured the HPS wins hands down every time, even if the wattage is the same. HPS is the most efficient light source of the 3 we growers use the most. HPS, MH, Fluoro.

HOT5's work great from start to finish with a mixed spectrum of 6500K and 3000K bulbs. It compares to the HPS in quality and density. It just takes a week or so longer to mature. Those who say HPS is the only way to go are full of it. I run 432 watts of mixed spectrum HOT5's and 400 watt HPS. Same results on yield for both flower rooms; 2 oz dry average per plant.

It's all about light penetration, my friend. You'd end up with some nice tight buds on the top 8" or so, then the rest would be mainly 'popcorn buds'. With the HPS, you get better penetration, and the plant will fill out better. You'd likely be quite happy with the T5's results, as long as the plants aren't excessively tall.

Mixed spectrum HOT5's. Only 184 watts here.
