T5 question

Does anyone know the lumen output on the 39w Sunblaster 2700K lamps?
Sunblaster doesn't list the lumens for the 39w 2700k.
It says the 6500k is 3510 lumens or 90 lumens per watt. The 2700k should be about the same.
I just bought some 39w T5s with the 6500k bulbs. I also bought some extra 2700k bulbs for flowering. The extra bulbs are not here yet but I will let you know if it is different.
BTW, don't buy from Access Discount lighting. It took a month to get the fixtures and the extra bulbs will be 34 days if they get here tomorrow. Apparently the 39w units are special or back order and Access is so poorly run they could not tell me what was going on for 3 weeks.

hmm well i know in my t5 setup, according to a few sites ive seen, my 6500k bulbs put around 5k lumens each, but the 2700k bulbs actually drop to barely over 2k. i dunno though, could be just the brand i was looking at.

Depends on the wattage. A 54w (4 foot) 6500 T5 will put out about 5000 lumen. A 39w (3 foot) 6500k will put out about 3500 lumen. A good rule of thumb for T5 bulbs is 90 lumen per watt. I have not seen a major drop in lumens for the 2700k. I am still looking for specs though.
Can you tell me where you found the lumen specs?
I know one thing for sure. I am tickled to hell about the T5s. I love em. They take up practically no space and the lumen output seems to be much better than the CFLs. The CFLs put about somewhere around 68 lumens per watt and the T5s put out about 90 lumens per watt and take less space. Of course the cost is around twice as much per watt but I think it's worth it. When you consider the lower lumens for a CFL, the price difference is less important.

Got some new info here. These are specs for the Sunblaze T5s. Different wattage, different brand, but I suspect the principle holds true. The lumen output is about the same for both spectrums.

SpectraluxTM high-output 24 watt, 22-inch fluorescent tubes fit 2-foot HO fluorescent fixtures and produce a warm colored light (3000 degrees Kelvin) with an initial lumen output of 2,000 each.

SpectraluxTM high-output 24 watt, 22-inch fluorescent tubes fit 2-foot HO fluorescent fixtures and produce a natural colored light (6500 degrees Kelvin) with an initial lumen output of 2,000 each.

this does sound right for sure, my t5's are the 54w 4fts, and for a 6 tube setup the BOX says its a collective of 25,200 lumens (iam assuming since 5000 x 6 = 30k, they are accounting for a bit of looss somewhere.

as for the specs, no i cant seem to find them on any site, so when i link my lights ive been having to list the details on the box myelf. heres the lights
the box lists the following:
effective output of 25,200 lumens
324 watts
120 volts
2.7 amps

Thanks guys.

Well hopefully I'm pushing 10,000 lumens with one 6400K and three 2700K lamps.

I'm liking these little lights. Most of the issues with them that I've read here are to do with light penetration. I have mine vertically mounted, so the whole plant is no more than 8 inches from a light.

Hey there sk'mo,
I'm assuming you got the 39w? Where did you find them? They are a little hard to find.
I finally got mine with the 4 bloom bulbs. It took over a month and next time I want to find somewhere else to buy them.
I love mine! I have 4 of them in the front and 6 - 35w CFLs in the back of my little flowering cab. I have 366w in a cab that is 38"w x 24"h x 18"d inside. That should be a little over 28,000 lumen.
The CFLs take up so much room. I get 3 more inches of headroom with the T5s...very important in a cab that is only 24" tall inside. I think I will eventually get all T5s in there.
It is too early to know which performs best.
If you would, please post where you found these lights. It sounds like you got them pretty fast.
Thanks,
EM :peace:

I got them with my tent. I just went in to a local hydro shop and they had them. When I went back to get the 2700Ks, the dude mentioned that they were hard to get, but again they had them. And you're right, they save a lot of space.
