Hey everyone! So I am a huge fan of the new HO T5 fixtures, but I'm curious to see what everyone else thinks about them. SO, if you've had a T5/ CFL experience, good or bad, post it!
Phoenix XL 4' 8-bulb and Sun Blaze 4' 8-bulb
As far as my experience goes, I've used two types of T5, the Sun Blaze 4' 8-bulb, and the Phoenix XL 4' 8 bulb. I've only ever used these lights for veg (although I'll soon be using the Phoenix for flowering in about a month).; That being said, the Phoenix is a much better light than the Sun Blaze. I think it might be more expensive, but it is definitely worth it. For starters, the Phoenix is much wider, meaning the light is spread out over a greater surface area. This is good for 2 reasons: a) it helps spread the heat out over a greater area, meaning you can put the light almost on top of the plant (I keep mine maybe an inch above canopy level, and have never been burnt). b) T5 lights don't get particularly good canopy penetration when compared to HID lights. So, having the light spread out means more of the outside leaves will be able to get light.
I hope this is of use to someone!
