T5 Attic Grow (Easy Ryder)

OK. Seeds arrived today. 5 Female Lowryder 2 x AK47 (Easy Ryder)

I'm going to be assembling a "box" for these. Plan on using 3Gal pots but if I plant all 5 I think i'll settle on 2Gal. I'm going to germinate them tonight or tommorow, any recommended methods?

Any input/tips for the final construction of the box? I'm thinking 2x2x4 or 3x3x4. 4' high is my limit. Gonna hook up an exhaust fan and possibly a vinyl tube drileld through the dryawall into my room to Pull in cool air, we'll see how the temps are with the T5.

I have a lot of questions on T5. Would a T5 5 Bulb fixture be sufficent enough to grow this ammount? Anyone with experience in this area please feel free to help. Thanks.

hey buddy,im about to start 3 easy ryders along with some auto aks,im using a 600w HPS all the way and a 120x120x200 tent

if your using t5 brother, you want a bank of like 12 of them for 5 easyryders,8 would do,12 even better, maybe even a CFL each side.

you can use teh hps,but you must,i repeat must, use a cooltube in a confined space(im using one,my tent counts as such even at 2m height,

4 foot should do those girls well my friend, very well, good luck!

Damn. so the 4Bulb T5 wont be good enough for 3 at least? I can't run a 600w HPS.. thats way too big for the space i'm building in. Thats getting carried away. I want to grow at LEAST 3 prefably all of them. Would a250watt work?

If you can go hps without heat issues, i would.
I'm flowering with 250w hps for the first time. I used to use T5 and cfls. Closet grow also. A bit more heat but 3 times the lumens .
As for germination, i always soak my seeds in a shot glass for 12-24 hrs in 7.0 water. Cover with a towel, and put the glass in a dark place.
When you first put the seeds in the water, they'll float. When you see they've sunk to the bottom, they're ready to go into soil.
You may have to tap the glass to get them to sink in case of air bubbles around the seeds.
If they don't sink after 24 hours, they probably won't grow either.

Do I need to build a box? Should I fully enclose these? What would be my best bet? I know once you enclose them with a 250+ HPS it can get like an oven in there. I have proper methods for ventilation so I really dont know what would be my best bet. Check out my grow space and let me know

yeh dude, you could definately go with a 250w or even 150w hps,250 will give much better results tho.

Get a cooltube preferably, they excellent for heat reduction and pretty damn cheap,as your normal extractor fan draws through the light(bulb is held in a glass cylinder),you could even get away with a 400w hps like that, only reason i have a 600w is because i can, tents 2m high,1.2mx1.2m wide,so not gonna waste it

hmmmm damn, just a normal door on the closest, you could build a box,or just find a way of sealing the door properly, when u close it of course otherwise itll stink lol

Blue. The closet wall can vent to the outside. I'm thinking of using ducting or vinyl tubing to make a cool air intake fan, pulling the cool air from outside and bringing it into the hot box. The air out here can get as low as 20 F So I'm just hoping the heat of the boxed in 400W HPS can be balanced by the cool air intake

The only way a 400 will stay pretty cool is by cooling and venting the reflective hood A LOT (24rs) and venting this hot air outside and bringing cool air in at the same rate. a 150 or 250 could stay reasonably cool by just being in a cool environment. And if air out side is really cold like you say be careful where you release your exhaust because its heat signature is going to be obvious coming out the top of the house.

Gonna exhaust right out the box into the closet

You do not need a 12 bank setup. Just look at this Journal T5 grow for proof https://www.rollitup.org/grow-room-design-setup/33421-my-current-set-up-journal.html
