t-5 vs 1000w mh

Hey there, should i veg under my 8 t-5 6500k or a 1000w MH?

Depends on space and if u can handle the heat output of a MH light if you can go MH if not T5

There are many variables to consider. Like webb said, space and heat are the main differences. Also height is another difference, you can keep the t5's an inch away from the canopy but you will have to keep the 1000w around 2 feet away and gradually bring them closer and probably no less than 1 foot away.

if heat or cost is no concern than it would be absurd to compare t5 to a thousand watter. don't get me wrong, i'm all about t5 for veg, but i'm not so silly as to think there would be any actual comparison as far as performance. t5s are comparable to a much lower watt hid. if you're fucking with that high of a watt hid then t5s are cabinet lighting lol.
