Switching up for Super Lemon Haze

So for this grow I'm starting in 3-4 weeks, as soon as I harvest these nirvana black jacks, I've decided to try something new. I'm in a 4x4x6.5 tent with a 600w hps.. I had 4 plants last time and made a newbie mistake of vegging too long and ended up battling to keep the fully mature plants away from the light burned some leaves and may have lost some potency from the colas (well see). For this grow I'm doing super lemon haze which I heard is a stretcher so I'm going to stay on top of topping/training but I've been thinking instead of doing 4 bigger plants I would do 9 smaller plants that I've topped a couple times.. Then I want to trim almost everything that's not a top to clear up space for the tops to get as big as possible. What do you think? Would I be better off sticking to my original method? Also if anyone has expirience with slh please share your wisdom

I would do 9 plants all in 18ls flip when 14-18 inch you will be fine no need to top go for a sog just lollipop em all job done.
