Im about to make the move to T5 from CFL but I'm unclear on the temps they put off. Can any one help out?

I'm looking at a 5 tube 2' fixture that will fit in my room 3' wide, 5' tall and 3' deep.

Any other tips on T5 you have I'm all ears. though im a little hard of hearing these days.

lol i was looking for this thread today. I saw it a while ago and wanted to read it again. thanks for posting the link! i intend to get a few of those bulbs. just to try it out.
I am using a PAR setup that I learned from that thread. Journal is in my sig. its going really well and I dont end up with a heat issue at all. Bulbs at most get up to 95 degrees, so if you have fans and ventilation everything works really well.

you mean a 6 tube? ive been trying to convince someone to get the tek fixtures from htgsupply . com , they put off mor elumens than the t5
Edit: Nevermind, I see now.. they're compact T5's... interesting. Smaller foot print but more lumens... what's the difference really, if you can utilize the larger footprint? I guess if you were gonna get a 2 foot unit anyway it's not a bad idea...

if your going to go PAR on the T%, you need t have all the right bulbs to get good results, you cant just do a few of them

Would either go with a Sunblaze, Hydrofarm, or Quantum T5 fixture. As DO3SHA said, you can check out those Tek fixtures, But I would rather go with the 2ft 6 Bulb T5, and check into PAR lighting. AS for heat, T5's gives off a small amount of heat. My T5 is in a 4'L x 2'W x 4'H room, and all I run is a small 180cfm (Honeywell) fan and temps run about 70-75.

Yes, Par lighting is a huge inprovement, but yes you do have to have the right combo of bulbs. I am getting familiar with PAR lighting and have my bulbs ready, just need the extra money. Here to hep and answer any questions..

understood. Ill see what i can do. PAR wont happen right away im going to run with the 6500k bulbs first and order the others later.

A good start twords PAR is the Flora Suns by zoo med. Reasonably priced. If you can afford it a good start would be to mix 50/50 FS's and 6500k's

i think PAR is a big money pit to fall into, ive tried and i dont see any significant results switching to PAR bulbs, but everyone has there own opinions, and what works best for them.
