Switching Over to Fox Farm Nute Line

so i just completed my first soil grow using ocean forest and botanicare's pure blend line of nutrients. i did not have the success i projected...and before using soil i completed 4 hydro grows and didn't really follow instructions and still had 5x the yeild under 600w less of light...

i think the reason for this is cuz i didn't really prepare my soil and i never really have gotten a grasp on botanicare's feeding schedule...

fox farms nute line seems way easier and of course i know its gonna be a hot solution, so i gotta use it at about 2/3 strength...or should i go half strength??

any input on this would be excellent cuz i'm bout to put my mom's into flower cuz all my clones died :(

No matter which nutrient line or medium you use is going to require paying attention to what is happening with the plants. The companies that make these nutrients and additives offer up guidelines and you need to find your own way. You can take advice from people here that you trust and learn from your experiences as you go. I switched nutrient lines a while back and started at 1/4 strength and worked my way up. It worked great and I have my schedule figured out. Getting the grasp of a feeding schedule is essential and you have to stay open to modifying it to meet the needs of the strain you are growing. More often than not, operator error kills plants. not nutrients. Good luck with the new nutrients.

marijuana plants are a tricky business. My first grow I started off with regular home depot no name nutes for about 8 weeks of veg and even some no name flower nutes for the first few weeks of flowering. I then decided like you to go the Fox Farm route and picked up the trio pack. I started using them half way through flowering and I would say I noticed an improvement but not like extreme (though it was my first time so i have nothing to compare it to). With the 3 plants i had i got about 7 oz's of dried bud.

so through this i learned vegging for longer will increase your yield, try to go for large pots (i went from 8oz cup to 2 gallon to 5 gallon), half strength your nutes at first and feed every other watering, if you're not gonna LST make sure to rotate them every couple of days to even out light distribution, etc.

I know thats pretty basic stuff but like i said i did the basics my first time and came out huge!

cheers

I use the Fox Farm trio pack plus solubles. I started with half strength and within 3-4 feedings, was using the full recommended amount on the feeding chart. Use the chart, ignore what is on the bottle and you'll be fine. Remember to flush the salts out at week 5 and week 8.
