Switching lights-on hours mid-flower?

It got ridiculously hot here right before I flipped, so I decided to have lights on from 8PM to 8AM. This is the exact opposite of how I usually do it, and I seem to kinda fucking hate this schedule for some reason. Can I switch to having my lights on during the day without pissing the plants off too much? How would I go about doing so, just give them a 24 hour night period before putting the lights back on at 8AM? Not sure if it matters, but a couple of the plants are starting week 5, a couple starting week 3, and the rest starting week 2.
 
I don't know what the answer is for sure but I would be super comfortable either going with 24 hours of dark or just move the schedule up an hour a day if you don't like the 24 hours of dark plan.
 
The 24 hours of dark would be the idea scenario, assuming it's not likely to heavily stress the plants. Adjusting the schedule an hour every day would be a bit of a pain in the nuts, having to wake up at odd hours of the night just to deal with the tent.
