Switching autos from a 20/4 cycle to an 18/6 in final stages of flower?

A friend told me that if you have stubborn autos that are taking forever to ripen, try changing their light cycle

He said switching from the 20/4 cycle to an 18/6 cycle will often jump start the trichomes and force them into ripening. But only for the last couple weeks.
Anyone?

I grow a bunch of autos - heard many things but here is my opinion.

Autos once in a flowering stage i have dropped it to flower 12/12 cycle at times when i had to move plants around - putting them with regular photo plants under that 12/12.

I didn’t find any negatives in doing this. I even run them as you mentioned , a “ cycle step down “ as it were , Full veg 20/4 - Transition to Flower 18/6 - Mid to late Flower 12/12.

It allowed me to intermix autos with any stage of photoperiod plants that i have running. Whether they were vegging or in a flipped tent.

I feel once plant is flowering …. Why would running 12/12 ( just like any other plant ) be any different - Flower is Flower bongsmilie
